Easy to follow instructions. You need to make sure to label your old wires before removing them from the old thermostat. After this connect everything to the correct terminals. Make sure power to the heat pump is off. After wiring everything up and turning the power back on our heat pump fired right up no problems. Time and temperature settings are very easy to work with.
I have one gripe about the product. It seems to make a ringing noise when the back light is on. It hasn't affected the functionality of the unit at all it is just odd. For this reason no stars taken off, does what it needs to do and looks a ton better than the almost 30 year old thermostat that was up.

Ordered this because it looked good and had a good rating. Unfortunately, it didn't work out of the box. The thermostat reading the room temperature was high by 4 degrees and after wiring it in, it just didn't work. The instruction pamphlet is terrible. Wiring the thing is difficult because of the internal design. Had a contractor take a look and he couldn't make it work either. Sent it back.
Got this one: Honeywell #YRTH7500D1009 7Day Univ Thermostat. Installation/wiring was a breeze. The wiring system is very well designed and easy, manual is well-written, and it works! Nice.

The Lux HP2110 performs as specified in the literature and has numerous features that make it very flexable. It has the great feature of 4 time divisions for each day. I installed it in my elderly father's apartment so that if he jacks it up or down because he's either hot or cold, it will reset to the programmed setting at the next time scheduled for adjustment. This keeps him from getting too hot or cold. I have gone to visit him and often the temperature is over 90F and he doesn't remember that he previously adjusted the thermostat.

DO NOT TRY TO INSTALL YOURSELF! I tried to install myself and even though I cut the breaker, I still managed to blow a fuse and had to have the HVAC people come out and fix it for me....$80 later. Lucky for me and my three month old daughter, it just happened to be a warm 50 degree winter night. Once it was installed and working properly, everything was fantastic. Very good product at a good price. The installation was quick and quite simple.I did not know if this thermostat would work with my brand new two stage heat pump but it functions perfectly.The programming steps are straightforward and very user friendly.I highly recommend this product for those that want to upgrade their heat pump thermostat.
