My live-in girlfriends seems to think that the house should be 30 degrees inside in the summer. The constant thermostat battle has just been won by me thanks to this awesome thermostat by LUX and it's lock-out feature. I am now in control of the temp and she can't over-ride it. It has many great features, was easy to install, and easier to program. Very clear instructions etc. I've recommended this to my dad and 4 or 5 friends and would recommend it to anyone.Customer Review: Junk-Failed after less than a year

Don't waste your money on this unit. Check the internet. Lux brands are well known to suddenly decide to no longer work or to never shut off. I had one installed for less than one year and suddenly it decided in the middle of winter that it would not tell the furnance to kick on. Thus my house got really cold. It acted like it was working fine, but nothing would happen. Go with the Honeywell brand. It may not have as many features, but they are more reliable.Customer Review: Great deal!

I selected the LUX 1500E thermostat because it was one of the top rated by Consumer reports, and very affordable. I received it within a few days and it was easy to install..instructions were clear, and the programming is simple. My house is actually warmer because I can set my heat to come on when we are home and need it and keep the heat off when we are not home. That helps my heating bill since I have a big, old home. It works fine but the wiring schematics leave something to be desired.
I could not do the installation with out searching on the internet for days and finally opening a thermostat at my friends house who happened to have the same product.
It is very simple to install if the existing thermostat wires match exactly one to one and by color.
I hope that LUX creates a manual and electric schematics for the average handyman person.

I have had this thermostat for over a month now and it is actually what I needed, I use it with my propane fireplace and have had nothing to complain about. I love the back light up feature and display. I found programming to be quick and simple and the unit works as advertised. Overall, I am very pleased with the Lux 1500E. It feels well built, has a nice display, and a very competitive price. I'd strongly recommend it.
