I have been looking for a product like this for years to connect with a warning light to indicate a drop in room temperature which would mean a furnace problem. It works great for this and costs only about 50% more than the Winter Watchman type products which have never functioned reliably for me. I can also use this product to energize a space heater in winter and a fan in summer to control ambient temperature. The product is easy to program and has been very accurate in temperature indication. The screen alternately displays the time and the current temperature. The set point temperature and "heat" or "cool" mode is shown in the background. I love this item.Customer Review: A great little energy saver!

I bought the programmable Outlet Thermostat at the beginning of winter, to try and regulate the electric heater in my room more accurately and keep it from staying on all night, even if I needed it to kick in if the temperature dropped alot. It's been working quite well and I'm glad that I bought it. I would give it a full five stars, but the one feature that I find lacking is that there is no light, even a quick temporary hold button that one can push to see the information on the readout. I have my thermostat outlet low to the ground, so it's a bit difficult to read unless I'm down there and it the room is lit. Otherwise, I'd purchase this item again.Customer Review: programmable thermostat

It does what it is supposed to do. I am using it in a small space so it heats up very quickly. The thermostat takes awhile to respond to temperature increases so it will usually go about 10-12° over the set temp before it shuts off. I also have just a plain electric thermostat which responds much quicker so it would be possible if it had a little better thermostat. This would probably not be an issue if your heater size is closely matched to your room. The only other drawback is that you can't set the temp for less than 45°. I would like to be able to set it for just above freezing. Overall it is a quality item and I would recommend it.Customer Review: Awesome!!

I have a half basement and it only has one vent from my central HVAC and during the winter if it's "comfortable" down there then it is steaming upstairs. I bought an oil filled heater to augment the HVAC in that room. The problem with that alone is that eventually it got too hot in the room and I had to turn it on and off all the time.
I purchased the WIN100 thermostat and plugged the oil filled heater into it and programmed the temperature to a comfortable level. Then I walked away. This thing turns on and off the heater for me and keeps the room at a comfortable temperature level.
This thing is awesome!

I am using this plug-in thermostat to regulate my electric/convection (oil-filled) baseboard heater. I like that it has 4 programmable time zones - that is enough for me. I wish the display were lighted or lighted up when a button is pushed because it is very hard to read the numbers. I also wish they would set the low end of the temp range to below 45 degrees - I would like to use this to keep some exposed water pipes in the garage from freezing in the winter. But all in all, it is a great product and is saving me $$. I plan to get some more with addition plug-in baseboard heaters. Definitely cheaper than forced-air gas heat!
