I bought this outlet thermostat to use with a oil filled radiator for in my 1.5yr old's bedroom. We turn the heat down at night and i wanted to make sure that he stayed warm since he doesn't keep a blanket on him. This has worked great for this purpose. It turns on and off automatically as needed to regulate the temp. in the room. I keep it between the wall w/ the window and his crib, and have it blocked off so he can't get to it and mess with it. Such a wonderful invention. At first i tried to purchase it at a local home improvement store, but they didn't even know that such a thing existed.Customer Review: Love my thermostatically controlled outlet

I have been looking for a product like this for some time. I wanted to control my through the window swamp cooler. I previously had it on a timer that has pegs for 15 minute intervals. This was not always handy if it was a cooler day. I received my purchase. It was fairly simple to set up - or you can leave it set at the factory default temperature. It works like a charm. Now on days where it does not get to warm until later, the unit does not run unnecessarily. I would recommend it to anyone. This has a setting for heat as well, so it could also be used with a plug in heater.Customer Review: Good idea, diffenential adjustment does not work.

I like the idea of these thermostats, we do not have central air and have four window units in our northern home, which we get by with. The thermostats (I have four of them) have a tempeture differential adjustment of 1 to 9 degrees. Guess what, it does not work on any of the four units, so with a 1 degree set (it dosen't change even when you put on 9 degrees) are snapping on and off all the time. This is not so much of a problem during the day, but at night in bedrooms it is a problem. To bad all these units have the flaw, they are a good idea.

I consider this a very good buy. It is as accurate as my furnace Honeywell digital thermostat. Now I can have that kind of quality precision controlling a space heater. I would never leave it run when not home though. The only complaint I have about this is it has a very faint clicking when it cycles on. This is barely noticeable, but does seem to make my baby wake up sometimes. I am trying to drowned out that sound with an mp3 of a heater fan. This helps a bit.
This is a minor complaint, I would certainly buy this again, and more if I need them. Highly recommended.

This Outlet Thermostat is the perfect companion for space heaters and such. We use a heater in a small 'sun room' so we can use the space early in the morning. In the winter here the room is quite cool. None of the small space heaters on the market have this programability built in, so adding this outlet with its full complement of programming options has been a God-send. Now when we go out in to that room in the morning it is already warmed up. The rest of the day and night it is held at 60F so plants don't die.
A great product. But not available in Canadian stores yet.??
