I purchased the Winn 100 to control the Infrared healting element I use to heat my barn where our prized dogs sleep. I am totally pleased with the way this device works. I have it set to turn on the 1200 volt infrared light (which is attached to the barn wall) when the temperature drops below 55 degrees and it works flawlessly 24/7. The Winn 100 not only keeps our dogs comfortable during the cold months but it also saves us $$$ on our light bill. I am thrilled with this product and I know you will be too. You won't be dissapointed!!

Customer Review: Great product... one small "issue"

This thermostat does a great job of keeping our bedroom and living room at a comfortable temperature. It was very easy to program. My only issue with it is that the temp sensor sits very close to the wall. If you have poorly insulated exterior walls, as I do, the cool air will "trick" the thermostat into thinking the room is cold and will keep the heater on. I had it set to 68 and the temp in the middle of the room was about 75. I simply lowered the thermostat a few degrees to correct for this. If you have well insulated walls this shouldn't be an issue.Customer Review: Works fine with one limitation

As with other LUX products(sometimes available in selected models under the ACE Hardware house brand), they are pretty reliable. The only kink I can think of is it's pre-programming does not allow past 11.45pm shut off and only starts at 6.00am. The programmers at LUX tend to forget there are 'night-owls' out there or people who stay up late for whatever reason to work or play. I have another whole house Lux thermostat that has the same limitation. A numerical punch button manual programming (for whatever time you want )feature will be ideal in this instance.Customer Review: Used As A Heat Lamp Thermostat for my chicken coop and love it

I had purchased one of the other automatic thermostats that look like a dual out plug and have a set temperature of I think 35 degrees. It was very unreliable and was a threat to my chickens health. I then purchased this unit and and am so happy with it. I have had it for two winters now and it has not failed me yet. I keep my chicken coop at 50 degrees in the winter months. I use this unit along with two 150 watt heat lamps in my 4'x6' coop. I have also insulated my coop to help keep heating cost down. I had no idea something like this actually existed. I rely on electric heaters in my apartment exclusively and figured this would be a great idea to conserve energy. This plugs into the wall like any regular appliance. Once plugged in, you plug in your heater or AC and that's it. It could not be any simpler.
The thermostat is very flexible. You can either set a temperature for it to hold or you can pre-program it for daily or weekend use. There is also a switch that lets you turn off the thing if you don't need to use it.
