This is a product that can take a beating, as well as dish one out if ever needed. Great clarity of the light, and I like that it is LED, but also includes an alternate bulb to use if you want. Haven't had to change the batteries on it yet, and I've been using it a lot working on all sorts of jobs around the house.Customer Review: Quite possibly the best flashlight you will ever own.

I own a few of the newer LED Maglites now, and I have yet to be disappointed by one. I tend to go through quite a few flashlights, both by losing and destruction, so I tend to get a feel for solid products - LED Maglites top the list.
I would do a pro/con list here, but I really can't think of a con to list... so the pros!
Extremely bright LED bulbs
Probably the most over-built flashlight available (virtually indestructible casing)
The larger ones make good blunt weapons in a pinch with all those heavy batteries
Fairly reasonable price
If you want a great flashlight, you won't be disappointed with Maglite.

I own the four and two D cell LED flashlights as well as two mini LED maglite's . Flashlights may seem trivial until you need them. These are the best for there price range and size although I have found Brinkmann is catching up. Maglite's are well built and very bright, LED models are the best but even the krypton bulbs are good. cant go wrong. The 4 D cell model is large but very bright, I keep it along with a Mini LED mag in my jeep. the 2 d cells are in the house. I found using Sanyo Eneloop batteries are a great combo with the 4 D cell model because they use a AA battery in a D cell converter, multiply that weight reduction times 4 and that is a big difference.
Can't really say enough good things about the Mag light LED flashlights. Worth every penny. Unless you have the need for a tactical flashlight that is weapons mountable , you should have a maglite in your hand. Best home and auto flashlight in my humble opinion.

Yeah they cost a little more then a plastic one, but they will last a lifetime. If you don't use it often just make sure you replace the batteries every few years, eventually batteries leak and ruin a flashlight. Even comes with a spare bulb in the battery cap, just remove the spring.
Something a lot of people don't know is using it like a candle. Unscrew the front of the light completely off, then place the end of the flashlight inside what you just unscrewed and stand it up on a table.

I have 3 LED MAG lights, the 4D cell, 3D Cell and 2D cell. Of the three the 3D Cell gives the brightest light ... the other two have a similar brightness.
Tried the 3D Cell LED by Newton ... doesn't even compare ... more of a novelty ... MAG lights are of very good quality.
