Ordered a 2 cell a couple of weeks ago. WoW ! I liked it so much that I ordered this 3 cell soon after.
Don't fool around with the LED up-grade bulb units, I tried them too. They don't even come close to these,
and they are Not cheap. I will Never buy a Non-LED Flashlight again.

the new mag-lite st3d016 3 d cell led light is far superior to the old led light.
the luxeon rebel es bulb is a great improvement over the old led bulb and far superior to the krypton bulb maglight i have used for 10 years . in short, i bought 2 more of the st3d016 maglites to keep handy

I have been waiting for the LED versions of this line of flashlights for 10 years and now I have two. I have both a 3-D cell and 4-D cell version of these awesome lights.
I love the blue/white color temperature of the beam. Tough and durable flashlights that should last decades.

I have to admit, the flashlight is a bit long/heavy cause it takes 3 D-cell batteries. You might want to go with the 2 D-cell one if you feel like you need a bit more of a "compact-ability" or something not so heavy, but in any case, the flashlight is REALLY bright and it's a great purchase!Customer Review: Great LED flashlight

I have 3 LED MAG lights, the 4D cell, 3D Cell and 2D cell. Of the three the 3D Cell gives the brightest light ... the other two have a similar brightness.
Tried the 3D Cell LED by Newton ... doesn't even compare ... more of a novelty ... MAG lights are of very good quality.
