After doing exhaustive research on the web for LED flashlights, I decided to give this one a try. I have owned other LED flashlights and have NOT always been happy with these products. Some reasons why I like this one more than the others include: 1) price, 2) quality, 3) adjust ability of the beam (small bright dense center or wider softer light), 4) includes an extra bulb in the base just in case the first one breaks, 5) you can purchase other types of bulbs, like Xenon, separately if you need them, 5) has good battery life (some lose brightness intensity very fast after a few minute of continuous use. Other LED flashlights have smaller multiple light bulbs and you can't adjust the beam intensity as you sometimes need to do on search and rescue missions. Of the 4 LED flashlights I own, this one is my favorite. It works great in a power outage, for hiking/backpacking (only when using out of the car, a little too heavy for a few night loop), and for search a rescue missions. Yes, it is true that the flashlight leaves a black circle when you force the light all the way out
but it really is not a nuisance to me. We have been through many flashlights over the last 30 years
and the mag flashlights are the only ones still remaining in my camping cabinet. These were
purchased for my family vehicles. Sometimes a small flashlight is not enough. Especially if you
break down and have to walk somewhere. Yes, the flashlight is heavy but remember there are
three D size batteries in it. Any flashlight with that many batteries will be heavy. It definitely serves
the purpose I intended. I tested it out in the state park where I live, and it is very dark back there.
It lit up the woods they way I wanted it too, especially if my children break down at night.
It does not however, have a spare bulb. Only the krypton bulb flashlights comes with a spare.
So, if you read some of the other reviews read them closely as the Led does not have one.

This is the best flashlight I have ever owned. We have a field outside our back porch, it is over 180 yards long, and with this flashlight I can see clear to the end of the field. So when our dogs bark at night, I can see the whole field to see what they are barking about. The LED maglite is very easy on batteries, at least 5-10 times easier than a standard bulb. The Maglite is built very well, with the all metal housing you don't have to worry about breaking it, if you happen to drop it. For the price I paid for it on Amazon it is also extremely affordable. I would recommend this light to anyone wanting a great light that is easy on batteries. It has an extremely bright white light, that makes it easy to see from up close to far away. Also it stays bright for the life of the batteries. It also has a lifetime warranty for defects, just register your light and you have a very good warranty. This light is hard to beat, for quality, warranty, long lasting batteries, and light output.Customer Review: Really bright, durable

I was first introduced to Mag-Lite's in law enforcement use almost thirty years ago and have always been impressed with their rugged reliability and quality construction, so it was the first brand I looked at when I decided to get a LED flashlight. Before ordering, I was a little concerned about the single LED, since 3 watts doesn't seem like a lot, but this sucker is bright! In fact, it seems just as bright the old Mag-Lite "Krypton" bulbs, and you don't have to constantly replace batteries! I have no idea how long the batteries will last, but with just a 3 watt draw, it should be a long time. Another advantage of the single LED is that it can be focused to a really tight beam if desired. Of course, as with all Mag-Lites, it can be adjusted to a flood if necessary. I experienced no "black spot" in the middle of the beam, as some reported, and the light was a brilliant pure white. I highly recommend this flashlight, and, as a bonus, Mag-Lite's are "Made in the USA".Customer Review: Great!!

I work in law enforcement and a flashlight is a very important piece of equipment. I have owned a Maglite charging system for the past several years. While it wasn't an LED unit, it still cost me over $100 and I must admit it was a great flashlight. Unfortunately I recently lost it and needed a quick replacement. Not wanting to spend another $100 or so I decided to purchase this flashlight to get me by. I am blown away on how bright this flashlight is. I compared it to another co worker's Maglite charging flashlight and this flashlight was way brighter. With that being said I don't feel the need to spend any more money. So far this was the best $23 I have spent in a long time. The only concern is that I have to replace the batteries instead of charging them. Since this flashlight is supposed to last 70+ hours I don't think it should be too bad. I highly recommend this product for anyone in law enforcement, or as an everyday flashlight.
