love this lite. i almost bought a streamlight, surefire, fenix, ect..... but just did not like a battery life of 2-3 hours. with this mag i get to use the flashligth, for a week long camping trip, with out having to change/replace the batteries. i have used it for a few hours straight and see no 50% brightness loss. maybe the other reviews are of the first generation mag led's. but on the one i got not even the black spot in the middle everyone talks about is there. long lasting, bright and a good back up weapon incase you need it on the way or when using the bathroom while camping. the reflector and all the other stuff said in these reviews have to be reviews of the original mag LED's. the new ones last long and burn bright. i will take 2-4 of these long lasting, bright burning, built like a tank maglites over those $80 short lasting, though bright burning, little LED lights any day.Customer Review: For reliability and Peace of mind, this is it!

My Mom is getting old and lives alone. We live in rural Maine, and the power goes out at least a few times each year. She's willing to spend about 99 cents on a flashlight, and then won't change batteries when the beam gets dim. Since I'm an active guy who loves cool stuff, I know the value of this $25 light beats those cheap junk ones. I bought this one for her so she'll be safer. With LED, the batteries last so long, she'll be able to see whenever she needs it. If she drops it, it will still work. AND the light is powerful white, so it will likely save her an accidental fall or two. What a simple way to lessen risk for an elderly parent on a budget. If you ever NEED a flashlight, you might as well have one that will last, be super bright, and save you money in batteries over its lifetime as well. I didn't order this flashlight through Amazon; I bought it at Lowes. However, I read a lot of reviews of this flashlight at Amazon. I decided to go with this flashlight because it's an LED and I heard a lot of good things about it. It's true what everyone says- the LED is really bright, energy efficient, the casing is very hard and sturdy. Not a lot of people will tell you how strong the beam is actually at night. I tried this flashlight at night, shining the beam from across a large field into a canopy of trees. When it's in spotlight mode, the beam projects very far. I also tried it in completely dark rooms and it lights the whole room up while in floodlight mode. In conclusion, if you're looking for a flashlight that's effective at seeing things a far way off, as well as close up, this is a great product.Customer Review: sorry excuse for a Mag-Lite product

I bought this flashlight in January of 2010. In September, it quit working. One of the batteries leaked (my fault for not checking sooner), corroding the interior to some extent. I had to use a bench vise to unscrew the butt end although there isn't all that much corrosion in the threads. Changed batteries. No light. Removed the switch (with a lot of effort); the switch has no obvious corrosion. Bulb problem? Cannot figure out how to remove the bulb from the end of the switch without destroying bulb and switch. Tried to order a replacement switch but it's a discontinued part! The only corrosion is inside the tube, not on the contacts. Reassembled it; still no light. I could buy a replacement switch and hope it works but I don't have the time or patience. This is going in the garbage.Customer Review: LOVE it

I've absolutely loved this thing in the couple years I've owned it. Its size and weight make it a great bedside flashlight as it can double as a weapon (in the event you wake up to an uninvited person in your home).
Have only run the LED bulb in it so far but love it. Creates a very bright beam which reaches out to quite some distance. Taken it camping a few times and was glad to have it along.
Overall an amazing investment. Odd to say that about a flashlight... but I truly do love this thing. It sits by me while I sleep, rides with me while I'm traveling through the mountains at night, and has trekked countless miles in my hiking/camping pack.
If you're after a large, 3-D cell flashlight then buy this.
