Tools and Hardware Reviews of Mag-Lite ST4D016 4-D Cell LED Flashlight, BlackCustomer Review: Don't ever buy a flashlight that doesn't say Maglite on it. Ever. Summary: 5 Stars
As always, Maglite has the best flashlight on the market. This review would be longer, but if you've ever bought any maglite before, you know what I'm talking about. The new LED bulbs are supposed to last longer and be brighter, and honestly it seems like it is, but the improvement in battery life is minimal. You really can tell the improved brightness, but it's different than standard flashlights, as the LED is white, not the traditional yellowish light that you get from most flashlights. Overall, great value, the 4 D Cell is nice and heavy, so if you want a heavy one, this is the way to go. It also operates just like any other maglite, you twist the head to focus the beam, so if you need a new, bright flashlight, this is the one for you. You can really tell the difference in brightness at a distance with this compared to the original maglite, this seems to be more powerful and the light beam is useful up to about 150 feet. If you've never owned a maglite, you're missing out, buy one of these or one like it so you can see what everyone else has been using for the last few decades.
Customer Review: Best Brand Of Flashlight Summary: 5 Stars
I own the four and two D cell LED flashlights as well as two mini LED maglite's . Flashlights may seem trivial until you need them. These are the best for there price range and size although I have found Brinkmann is catching up. Maglite's are well built and very bright, LED models are the best but even the krypton bulbs are good. cant go wrong. The 4 D cell model is large but very bright, I keep it along with a Mini LED mag in my jeep. the 2 d cells are in the house. I found using Sanyo Eneloop batteries are a great combo with the 4 D cell model because they use a AA battery in a D cell converter, multiply that weight reduction times 4 and that is a big difference.
Can't really say enough good things about the Mag light LED flashlights. Worth every penny. Unless you have the need for a tactical flashlight that is weapons mountable , you should have a maglite in your hand. Best home and auto flashlight in my humble opinion.
Customer Review: You should have one of these...Maglite 4D LED Summary: 4 Stars
I'm a home user and wanted a heavy duty flashlight which would last me a long time plus have good performance.
I read the reviews of the maglite and felt it to be the one. True to the reviews, it is a good flashlight.
Not as heavy as I was worried about it being. The black hole in the middle of the focus really depends on how you have the rotatable head set. If you rotate it to it's most compact focus, it won't bother you.
it has a good grip in the center of the body and i'm happy that it is shock and water resistant(haven't tried that out as yet).
The only thing that bothers me is a faint clicking sound that comes from the body when I move the flashlight which might have to do with the batteries hitting the sides in the battery compartment...
Was shipped out on time too..
Certainly one of the better flashlights out there....
Customer Review: Didn't Receive LED version Summary: 1 Stars
I ordered this item off of my husband's wish list for father's day. It was processed through Amazon for Andrew Christian, which I assume is an affiliate. The flashlight I received was the standard 4 cell Mag-light rather than the LED version. The flashlight is great, but my husband already has one and really wanted the LED version. We found later that you can purchase an LED bulb upgrade for Mag lights - which is 1/2 the price of the entire flashlight and super bright. If you already own a Mag and just want to upgrade to an LED, that is probably the best route to go. I don't fault Amazon or Mag for shipping the wrong product. In the end we decided to keep it rather than spend more money on return shipping - I'm sure the actual LED version of the light is great - however, beware of buying it from Andrew Christian because you may not get what you pay for.
Customer Review: Maglight 4D LED Flashlight Summary: 1 Stars
To say I'm disappointed is an understatement! I have many LED flashlights, from many differant makers. All of them are better than the Maglight, even there own AA version. As the second reviewer stated, there is a huge black hole in the beem, with exception of the tightest setting on the focus! I am going to try and send it back, but since it was bubble packed, and I opened it and put batteries in to check it out, I don't know if I will be able to? I should have paid more attention to the reviews, as the second one I read stated this very thing! Live, be stupid, and learn. I can't even say I didn't know, because I read the reviews. I decided to try it because almost all the other reviews never mentioned it. I guess it must not have mattered the majority of those buyers? But it certainly does to me!
