Customer Review: The Mailguard Mailbox is Useless

I installed my Mailguard in July of '03.On September 26, '03 someone used a very small slotted screwdriver to pry the door open & bend the lock arm.
This lock arm is so soft as to be a useless deterent.
The security of this mail box is all illusion and no substance until the manufacturer uses a better lock with a hardened or stiffer acuator arm.

An excellent purchase! I have been looking for something like this for a long time. I refused to buy one of those overkill metal vault mailboxes that cost so much more, look horrible and do the same. This box, looks great, holds lots of stuff and is tough. I recommend it to anyone who wants to keep other hands off your mail and don't want to spend a fortune.Customer Review: Peace of Mind

Bought this after our mail was stolen and our identity compromised. I've searched hi and low for a secure mailbox and this is the only one i could find that is really secure. You cannot put your hand in this and steal mail. It was easy to install and actually looks very nice as well. Sturdy, alittle odd looking but it does the job and does it well. Now an overstuffed mailbox won't be a dead give-away for a few days away from home.(Providing we can afford the gas to go away anymore)We used a 4 x 6 post and find that it was just right. I have had this mailbox for at least a couple of years now and it has done well. The lock still turns easily when I put the key in, and I haven't noticed any fading or cracking anywhere. It was easy to install and adjust to the correct height per postal regulations.
