I found this lux meter to be completely satisfactory in general. What I did not understand from the description is that the lux scale is an integer scale, and the lowest that the meter reads in 1 lux, which is still pretty bright. This is through no fault of the product, but I had hoped for a meter that read fractional lux.Customer Review: Luxmeter
