I have used several of these locks at my seasonal campsite. I find them to be heavy duty and weatherproof. I have put them on deck storage boxes and secured propane tanks and canoes to trees or to the trailer metal frame.
I like the set-your-own lock feature so that a single combination can be used by all campers on the site when needed. No memorization or supervision is needed to get at needed supplies in any place at any time.
The locks work flawlessly and stand non-use throughout the winter without corrosion or jamming in any way.

I have had many MasterLock combination locks before. This is the first time I had a problem: after I set my combination, it worked only once. After that, the lock won't open at the correct combination - or any of hundreds other combinations I tried. Since it was an inexpensive lock, I simply went to a local hardware store and bought another MasterLock --which has been working fine.
One minor complaint: the numbers on the rotating wheels are rather hard to see when the lock gets old, and the wheels are not very smooth to rotate.

This is my second one of these, the first in now about 6-7 years old and works great.
Why I like it is the now need for a key and the ability to set your own code, all of which is very easy to do!
I even lost my code key for my first lock, all I did was contact master lock online and they were very nice and just asked where to ship the replacement key for free!!!
Over all I find this lock to work great and does it's job, I would buy it again and will do so in the future if I need to!

I use these on my outdoor storage sheds and they work great since you don't have to carry keys. But they freeze up in winter weather and can't be opened. The only lock I find that works in winter weather are 'receiver locks" that are used lock a trailer hitch to a vehicle. (Sounds strange but they work). Just drop it down through your door latch with the rubber cap up. The rubber cap keeps moisture from getting in to the lock. The draw back is I have to switch back to using keys in the winter.Customer Review: decent lock

Having watched the youtube video of the person defeating this lock I was skeptical, but I bought it anyway. In the video he bends a paper clip in half and gets it into the lock at the second wheel. I'm not saying the video is fake, but you couldn't get a piece of paper into the space he indicates on the lock I got, let alone a paper clip folded in half. It seems secure enough to me and the convenience of setting my own combination is very nice.
