I wanted to secure items and not fumble for 4 different keys. I may or may not have ever used them on a commercial plane. I was swayed by the brand Master Lock....must have been a Master reject. The shank was so thin I could bend it with my hands and it was so limited in range that aside from minor applications they are useless to me! My wife and I travel with 2-4 pieces of luggage, depending on the nature of each trip. I've had earlier versions of these locks, and one or two have broken with wear -- but not until logging more than 200,000 miles and years of travel in the United States and internationally. This Master Lock 4-pack is perfect for us -- fine for securing normal baggage. All four locks open with a single key, and at only about $2.50 each, they're a great bargain.Customer Review: They're locks. For luggage. They work.

You get four locks and four keys. They're pretty standard. I used them on a checked backpack for a recent international trip. Nobody in airport checking or security had an issue with the locks, so they passed that test. The locks were a tad bit smaller than I thought they'd be, but that's not really a problem. They seem pretty sturdy and are cheap, so I think they're quite good enough for your luggage-locking needs.Customer Review: Am I cursed?

I returned The Masterlock combination set of four 2 weeks ago because 1 of 4 didn't work and was thus damaged. So.... I decided to go simple & ordered this keyed set. As Cheezy says, 1 of 4 again didn't work. What is is with the Masterlock Corp? Do they have something against me---or are 25% of their products made by chimpanzees? I'm not returning this pack for another 75% refund---it's not worth it.Customer Review: Excellent locks

What's to say? They lock, they unlock. Keys and locks both feel very sturdy, and they unlock extremely easily. I would happily buy more, if for some reason I had that many things to lock.
I did not actually use these for travel, so I can't comment on whether the TSA will need to break them when searching your luggage for three ounces of liquid or embarrassing sex toys.
