Customer Review: SUPPLIERS BLAME AMAZON FOR MIX-UP

I have had nothing but problems on two out of three orders, with three different suppliers. I ordered a specific item(NEON LUGGAGE LOCKS)in a SPECIFIC COLOR (any of three colors listed in NEON). I was sent silver locks by two of these suppliers. Which, I, of course had to send back and either wait another three weeks for a reorder, and returned and cancelled the other order after supplier informed me that they "didn't even carry the NEON LOCKS! Seems to me, if I were selling items listed on Amazon, I would make sure the listing was correct before orders started coming in. Amazon stands behind their reputation, and rectifies complaints from customers. I bought these and received 2 sets (4) pink ones. The were sturdy, easy to reset combination. I was totally satisfied with the locks. Then I refered a tour group to use them. My ears have burned with complaints about the purple ones. So, I ordered another set and got a pair of purple ones. The long and short is one wroks and one were different instructions to reset combination for each color, I don't know if this really had anything to do with it or, but the first lock I tried to reset (purple) did not work, has not worked, and
probably will never work. The second one (purple) opened to the instructions that came with the pink locks. Go get your money back is a pain. If I knew I would get pink I would reorder, but there is no guarantee therefore, I will eat the purple ones and not recommend for my tour groups. The only ones I have come in contact with are the pink and purple.

The hole that the lock latch is supposed to squish into isn't deep enough. It also requires holding it in place while messing up the combination in order to be secure - mostly because it won't hold just by pushing down. I went to England with a checked bag needing two locks. After three flights, I found that one of my locks was sort of stuck due to one of the personnel doing it almost right. I managed to get it open. After locking my bag seven more times over the next month as I moved around, all seemed fine. However, after three flights back home, my bag arrived at the final airport without one of the locks, presumably having been locked after not being properly secured.
I would not buy these locks again. For the cost, I expect them to perform much better than making it through three airports twice. I wish I could get half my money back since, due to its design, I know have only one of the two locks.

Manufacturers have now mastered the art of web photography. The photos are accurate. The problem is the locks are badly made.
When I set the combination, in order to use the lock, one worked, and the other hung up and is now unusable. The mechanism is badly made & imprecise: it set a combination before I finished, and now won't open/close. I'm hardly all thumbs: I don't generally have a problem like this.
Why not just send it back to Amazon? Amazon does a good job, & I'm sure they'd help out. But at their price, it's not worth the effort.
I wasn't looking for a huge bargain, just some locks that would function, and to avoid a special trip through traffic to the store.
I hope reviews like this help discipline the manufacturers to get the innards of their products up to the level of their beautiful photos.

I think it's time for Amazon to get this listing fixed. If they are going to possibly send you a brass colored lock as one of the colors they send out, then they should say so! I was aware from the reviews that some people were getting their brass locks instead of the four colors that were listed in the discription - but there were some who did get the right colors I thought they may have fixed the error. But when I ordered this, I also got a brass colored lock that was actually a different model as well. I didn't see anyone following up to say whether or not they were sent a correct color after sending back the brass one. I needed this lock for my trip in 2 weeks but I guess I'll take my business elsewhere. I've had great experience ordering from Amazon until now which sucks because I don't have complete confidence in them now.
