Customer Review: DID NOT COME IN NEON COLOR AS ADVERTISED

I had read the previous reviews that mentioned getting metallic colored locks instead of the neon colors advertised. I felt that, since those reviews were a few months old, that a company with as good a reputation as Amazon would have solved the issue by now. WRONG! The product info specifically states the locks are neon colors for easier bag identification, and lists the possible colors. Was silver one of the listed colors? No. Did I get silver locks? Yes. They work fine, but one of the reasons I chose them was for the bright colors, just as advertised!
I am keeping the locks because I need them right away for holiday travel, but I am VERY disappointed in Amazon for not at least updating the item description to state you may get plain metal colored locks.

I ordered two sets of combination locks, and only one in each package is usable. One of the shackles arrived jammed, and don't go all the way down to actually lock the device. The other lock, the combination we selected did not work, and the lock won't open. The reset code also does not work. Because of these problems, I am concerned about using the two locks that actually work as I am afraid they will jam or break while I am on vacation. The bodies of the locks are made out of plastic and they look quite cheap, and the shackle seems to damage the plastic every time it is turned.
I love the bright neon color (received a pink and a purple set) and the size of the locks, but I will probably contact Amazon to return them, and order a better set.

We bought these locks for a trip to Asia, and even after the bags were tossed about in several airports the locks were still in great shape. Easy to set, and they hold securely. There is no danger that the locks will be cut off, as they are TSA approved. The combination-set system is better than a keyed system as you never have to wonder what you did with the key. Just write down the combination on a piece of tape when you get home, stick it to the lock, and there it is to remind you when it's time for the next trip. Peel off the tape, and you're good to go.
Update, November 2010: The locks are still going strong. They have been through many airports, and are still working perfectly - have not bent or cracked or failed.

We purchased these locks to use on our luggage for a trip to Mexico. Knowing what I spent on the locks I wasn't expecting the highest quality of lock in the world but the locks worked perfectly for what they were intended to do. Which was to simply keep the contents of our bags just a little bit more secure than they would have been without a lock and the piece of mind knowing we had put a lock on them.
The items we received were exactly as described and the color that we ordered. The combination was simple to set and we didn't have any problems with the locks what so ever.
I would recommend these locks to someone who just wants to keep uninvited guests out of luggage while you travel to your destination.

I ordered these neon-colored locks as backup for my other TSA-approved locks because they are starting to show their wear after many overseas trips, and some lazy TSA folks have even started tossing them in with my luggage instead of re-locking it. Therefore, I am afraid that they will eventually turn up missing.
When I ordered my neon-colored locks, I was offered my choice of colors and received the ones I wanted. The combination is easily set, and I expect a child could even follow the provided instructions. I especially like the choice of neon colors for helping to pick out your luggage at baggage claim since so many pieces look alike these days.
