Overall, this storage box is well made, very heavy duty; I'm fairly confident it won't be broken into and if someone does manage, they will have been there a long time trying. Setting the combination is very easy to do and easy to change; there's a reset button inside that you push to one side, set the combo, then push back. On the outside, it has a little black cover that slides over the combo lock once your'e done that's not shown in the picture. Inside there are 4 holes to allow you to mount it on the wall; it comes with 4 screws and the holes are big enough to use bigger screws if you would like to; once it's mounted, it's not coming down unless you open it and unscrew it. Although I managed to fit 5 keys, it's not easy to close because there's nothing to hold them up; I fit 1 big car key and 4 small house keys. Also, you only get half the storage because the top part is taken up by the combo lock on top so you can only place the keys on the bottom half. This was my only disappointment because I was hoping to add my electronic key fob for the car. Overall though, great for a few keys without a ring attached or car alarm, just the keys.Customer Review: Master Lock Wall Mounted Key Storage Box

We bought the Master Lock Select Access Wall Mounted Key Storage Box to put keys for renters who rent our cabin. It's heavy and has a very solid feel. The size is good; not too clunky or obtrusive. It mounts securely with four screws (provided) through the inside of the box. It sits flush to the wall making it difficult to pry off with a crowbar. Even then power tools would be necessary to break into it.
The numbered dials are a little stiff to operate, but not excessively. They are reflective, and that makes reading the combination a little tricky in poor light. The lever opens the box easily when the combination is dialed in. Like a bike lock, you have to scramble the dials after you close it.
Inside the box is space for keys, of course - that's the whole point. A little hook or two to hang them on would have been helpful.
Setting your own combination is a snap; very, very easy.
If it had non-reflective dials and a hook inside, this would easily rate "five stars".
The most important part is, this product is solid, well made, and a good value.

This is a well built and secure storage option for spare keys. The use of a locking box is much more preferable to any decoy safes or hidden storage options. I purchased this wall-mountable locking box because I felt uneasy about simply hiding my spare keys. Now I've done both. Instead of screwing this unit to the wall, I found a very good hiding space for it. My spares keys are hidden and secure in the event someone discovers them.
The combination lock is easy to operate, and the instructions on setting it to your own combination are very clear. The interior room is sufficient for more than the advertised 5 keys, but keep in mind that about 40% of the interior is consumed by the study locking mechanism.
I see no foreseeable method of circumventing the combination lock, short of grinding or sawing the housing. If the thief is going through that much trouble, and is that well equipped, no lock would prevent that type of incursion anyway. I feel secure using this device to protect my spare keys, rather than simply having them lie around the house.

Wonderful storage device. This is a well designed, sturdy, emergency key storage unit. It mounts easily, is obviously constructed with heavy duty material and provides excellent security. My last unit like this (from GE) had a magnetic strip so I used to hide it behind an outdoors water heater we have. But then one day I couldn't open it (apparently the combination somehow reset itself) and I couldn't open it normally. Worse, I was able to prise it open and extract my keys. I figure that if I can do that then a thief can do it just as easily so I starting browsing and reading reviews to see what was recommended by actual customers/users and what worked. This was one of the best reviewed and reasonably priced products of its type. And now that I have two myself, I definitely concur with the overall rating. Unless a thief actually knows your combination or has a blowtorch, he wont prise this open, and your keys are safe. Great product, great price. After being broken into months ago and then realizing my Medeco key was missing from my 5401D box and this was probably how they gained entry as there was no forced entry, I asked my very smart friend who lives across the country, "How the heck did this happen?" He was like, "Oh, you mean you have one of those boxes?" He then told me the trick to open them in under two minutes. Not by guessing, math equations, brute force, drilling nor latch bypass but an even easier way and the way actually gets you the combination! It was so ridiculously easy to do, I got it on the first try when trying it out on my brother-in-law's Master combo box and I have no special skills whatsoever. I will not say how it is done for obvious reasons, but I can not in good faith recommend this box to anyone trying to keep a spare key secure outside. In consideration of all the people who currently own these boxes, I will not spread the information. Do not message me asking how to do it, it will be ignored!
