I just installed one of these outside of my home. It's a really solid piece of hardware, and worth the extra cost over other solutions that I looked at. It's very roomy and can easily hold a few house keys plus car keys and key fobs, if you needed it to.
Once you mount this to a wall or post, it seems like it would be pretty difficult to get anything behind it to pry it off. However, even if someone could pry it off, you would almost have to destroy it (and the contents) to get it open. I have a feeling that it would be easier for someone to break out one of my windows than it would be to get in this thing to get a key.
Anyway, very solid, and I need to get another for other keys inside as the previous reviewer mentioned.

When I ordered this product I was unaware that because I had selected regular shipping that it was coming USPS. There was no mailbox where I was staying, so they were unable to deliver it to me and the product was shipped back to Amazon. I called in desperate need and the representative I talked with helped me through the process of reordering and she even paid for it to come 2 day UPS because of my original misunderstanding. The product arrived in the 2 days and I love it. It is easily mounted, large enough for a couple keys and maybe won't corrode with the weather because of the little door that closes on the numbers. The product arrived in a timely manner and was packed well for shipping. This item was exactly what I needed, it is slightly oversized in the interior cabinet compared to other items of it's type I've used before, which is what I needed to hold the keys for my work trucks and the padlock key on the same ring for my workers to have access to vehicles from outside my building before my office opens in the AM. Seems solid and secure, like all locks if someone wants it i'm sure they could get it but it is very strong and I mounted it beneath an security camera so I don't think i will have any issue. The little door that slides up to cover the number dials scrables the dial to reset it when you slide it up which was a nice feature intended or not.Customer Review: Needed a safe place to leave extra key

I purchased this lock and recently installed it on the inside frame of a storm door of our vacation home. It did not fit on the door frame itself between the two doors. I needed a place to leave a spare key and this seemed the best solution. Leaving a key hidden outside was just not something I felt comfortable with. It is reasonably priced. It was easy to install and is sturdy. It is easy to set your own combination. The directions provided are clear and simple to follow. The one feature that I do not like is the combination needs to be scrambled upon locking it after use, unlike other locks that need to be set to zero in order for the locking mechanism to engage. Seems too easy to just lock it and go, leaving the combination in view.Customer Review: Nice security option

After having tried to hide keys in various places outside the house for years I decided to try this storage box for more convenience/security. The box is well made and easy to use. Four screws will securely hold it to a wall and thwart any simple attempts to gain access. However, a bad guy with a 5 pound hammer could break it off/apart with a few hard smacks. For this reason I mounted it in an area within plain sight of neighbors, but not easily seen by someone passing by. Also, I remove the key whenever I travel out of town. My family knows to keep an occasional eye on the box to be sure it's still in place and undamaged. For the convenience and peace of mind it provides I think it's worth consideration.
