Tools and Hardware Reviews of Maxxima MLS-01 Occupancy Sensor LED LightCustomer Review: LED light for stairs Summary: 5 Stars
We have this LED sensor installed about 2 feet above the second stair down from the top of the stair case. It goes on IMMEDIATELY when we are in sight of it. The light is just above the level of the landing, so it lights the landing and all 7 steps down to the garage.
WE LOVE THIS LIGHT! By putting it low, it casts it's light on the stairs, not in our eyes. It is the perfect stair light for night use and I plan on buying 1-2 more lights. (Our garage light has a SLOW motion sensor, so this light is important for safety).
PS - I fell on the stairs two years ago and spent 2 months in a boot. Boot, MD, MRI, xray, etc cost $1,500 or more. This light would have prevented my fall.
Customer Review: Piece of Crap DOA Summary: 1 Stars
I started off by buying one of these. When I put the batteries in and turned it to the ON position, the bulb flashed once and never worked again. I figured it was a fluke that it didn't work, so I returned it and bought two more. One for the garage and one for the dining room, surely these will work. NOPE, when the other two showed up, I put brand new batteries in them and nothing happened, not even a flash like the first one. They didn't work in the ON position or the Sensor position.
I bought these because of the high rating others have given them. Is there a severe quality control issue going on here with Maxxima?? What kind of crap are they trying to sell us. DO NOT BUY.
Customer Review: Very nice quality light, brighter than a 7 watt night lite Summary: 5 Stars
This little Maxxima MLS-01 LED Light is aways waiting for you to light the way. Even when you approach the light from the side it will turn on. I did have a problem the first few hours after I put in the new batteries. The light would not shut off when I left the room. Not sure what happened but a few hours later and it was working just fine. The light is about 3 to 4 times brighter than my old plug in night lights that use the small 4 or 7 watt bulbs. You can also switch to have the light stay on all the time when you want.
If the power goes out at night this light will be great to have. I am sure I will be buying a few more of these LED lights.
Customer Review: PERFECT FOR TRAVEL Summary: 5 Stars
I spend time in hotel rooms. They NEVER have a night light where it is needed. This light packs easily (take the batteries out first) and then sets up in your hotel room where YOU want light to come on. The Motion sensor is first rate. They sense from a good distance and seem to never fail.
There are other lights Maxxima style has if you want the same type of light that will also plug into the wall ... check out the MLS-10. The MLS-10 plugs in with battery back-up as well. Great for kitchens and hallways.
These are the kind of quality light the some authority suggested for older folks to prevent falls in the home.
Customer Review: Excellent product Summary: 5 Stars
I have this hanging in my hallway next to the door to the garage. It lights up the hallway when I walk it so I am not walking into a dark house. I like the fact that there are 3 settings; On - where it stays on; Off - where it stays off; and OS Sensor - which is the motion sensor. It is also bright enough to light up an area, but not to bright if it is near a bedroom, it is not to bright to wake anyone who might be sleeping.
It is also useful for the bathroom or any dark room where you might search for light switches. Also since you can turn it on and leave it on, it would be good for closets that might not have a light.
