While the item was well packaged and arrived on time; it does not function completely. The light isn't very bright but is enough for a small stairwell or to light the landing of a basement stairway, but the motion sensor does not trigger the light. After trying multiple trials in varied degrees of light, providing motion at different distances and heights... nada. I'd seen some motion detector lights @ my daughters (she got for her small childrens' nighttime trips to bathroom), and thought the lights would be helpful for my elderly parents. So, I "googled" the lights, found Maxxima MLS-01 occupancy sensor led light for less than $10, so I ordered 3 (got free shipping!) I LOVE them!! They work very well, and my parents like them also! For the price, some peace of mind for safety issues is welcome! I have shared the website with my coworkers who also have elderly parents and caregivers. I put this light by the door so the light will greet me once I walk in. I plan to get a sensor for the light switch, but this is a good solution for the time being. I'm surprised how well this light works compared to other plug-in lights I've seen. I haven't had the light come on without being activated and it turns itself off just like the box says. If you've tried other nightlights, you probably have experienced how oddly they can behave. The light is a bit blue for my taste, but it's that standard LED cold color.Customer Review: Through the darkness...

I have to walk thru a woodshop to get from the home theater to the rest of the house and it is a waste to turn on all of the lights in the shop to see in the dark for 5-15 seconds, so I bought this lil guy! I have it mounted at about eye level right in the middle of where I walk. It does a pretty good job of picking up motion. Most of the time it comes on as soon as I open one of the doors so I am never without its light. However, every so often I might have to wave a hand...but "oh no!" It is perfect for what it does. Bright enough to just be able to see what you are doing. I haven't seen how efficient it is on batteries since I'm on my first set still a few weeks after purchasing. Sensor seems a little off though. It often comes on randomly, even if no one is in the room, no matter where I put it or position it. Perhaps it's the batteries or maybe I have a 'presence' in the house? I will try different batteries eventually to see if that helps.
