I've used these filters for over four years in my refrigerator. I'm the type of person who isn't going to replace a filter unless the water tastes bad, or the dispensing rate slows to a trickle. It actually took about 3 1/2 years of usage to slow to a trickle, and I replaced. The second name-brand filter started to slow down only after 10 months. Sure they both lasted longer than the manufacturer recommendation, but I would have like to see a longer lasting replacement filter for the cheap-o's like myself!Customer Review: Maytag Refrig Water Filter

It's a decent filter and does the job, but if I had known when I purchased the Maytag refrigerator that this was the only type of filter that would work, I would have purchased a different brand. The price is in the mid $30's no matter where you look for it. Several other top name refrigerators use generic brand filters that are about half the price and be purchased at places like Home Depot.
On the plus side, it does last for a year as advertised so it doesn't break the bank as an annual cost.

I bought a new refrigerator last summer from Home Depot. I tried to go back and get a new filter a few months ago and they told me that they do no carry the right filter for my fridge. I did some research and found that amazon.com carried the filter for the cheapest price and also they had their free shipping. It is a great deal! The filter fits and works great. I didn't realize how the old filter was affecting the water pressure until we change it. Don't forget to change it when it's due!Customer Review: My Filter

What a beautiful filter. I ordered it once I saw its white pale features, It was delivered like an angel to my door, I gently placed it in the spot it was meant to go, It was a perfect fit and looked absolutely exquisite in that spot, Then I let the inside drain for a while, and finally I drank from it with an incredible refreshment and satisfaction like no other filter I have ever bought and taken home and used. I checked them all, and this was the best price for a single pack filter. The shipment was quick and accurate. And yes, even including the cost of shipping it came out to cost less! It is an OEM bulk pack item, but hey, you just throw the box and extra paper work away anyway. Instructions are not needed unless you lack total common sense to flip, turn, and snap and your done ability. Try this guy and save, you will not be sorry.
