I bought one of these last time I needed one. I actually used the link from my previous order to put this in my cart again. The first time I got it, shipping was under $5. Somehow this time, by the time I was on the last page of purchase, shipping charges were nearly $60 (?!?)! Obviously, I'm not purchasing this product from this seller at this time. I'm hoping it's just some sort of glitch. If not, it's a serious rip-off.Customer Review: Well worth the price.

The PuriClean II filter is well worth the price. For around $35 a year, the filter improves taste, eliminates odors, and removes contaminants such as: Lead, Atrzine, Lindane, Benzine, Carbofuran, Chlorine, Mercury, Asbestos, and others. Some people bypass their filters, but it just isn't worth it. $35 is a small price to pay for the benefits of this filter. The name Maytag has been around for decades. They have provided excellent products and service. My refrigerator had this type of Filter when I bougth it. Everyone wanted to know what kind of water I was serving because it tasted so good. The installation process was very easy. The quality and taste of the water is excellent. I've bought this filter twice, and both times with the same result. The water tastes great--the filter definitely pulls out all the chlorine and other badnes--but it deposits fine white threadlike particles in the water for months. Hopefully, they're benign...but they do look gross in the glass. I'm going to choose a different brand in the future if one is available.
