This is a great sprinkler.
The adjustment capabilities are awesome. If you take a second to look at it, you'll realize that you can adjust angle of sweep, distance(my favorite-there's a needle on one side that you can screw in and out. when you back it out all the way, look out, it's like a water cannon), and spray deflection. If you think you need an instuction manual for a sprinkler, you should probably just go back to bed to keep yourself from walking in front of a truck.
I've got two and they cover my entire back yard. Another plus is the fact that everything is metal. I don't have to worry about leaving them in the back yard with my dog, who has chewed up the plastic ones.

I was disappointed upon receiving this sprinkler and I would say that "heavy duty" should not be in the title.
First, the impact portion is of a light weight metal and plastic, not brass. Not sure how long it will last.
Second, the base is a cheap stamped metal and much lighter than my last one.
Third, the adjustments are not easy to use, do not stay in place and I have trouble adjusting it to deliver water where I desire.
All in all, not the quality I expected from Melnor and definitely, not Heavy Duty. I would not purchase this sprinkler again. For those interested - this is made in China.

Bought this sprinkler about three weeks ago and I am giving it one star only because that's the lowest rating I can give. The sprinkler is all metal and looks very sturdy but looks can be deceiving. It worked fairly well for about a week then quit working. The sprinkler is designed so that it can be set to water any sector you choose or rotate 360 degrees. As previously stated after about a week it quit rotating. It will still shoot out water but will not rotate no mater what pattern I set. I disassembled it and blew it out with an air hose thinking there might have been a small piece of dirt but found nothing. I now have a $20 paper weight.Customer Review: Best Sprinkler Ever

I'm SO pleased with my Melnor Heavy Duty Pulsating Sprinkler! I have a huge yard and needed a sprinkler that would cover a large area at each setting. This one fits the bill. I am handicapped with severe arthritis, so I needed a sprinkler like this that would cut down on the number of times I have to go out and reset it. Another great feature is the weight of this product. All the other pulsating sprinklers I've owned had to be weighted down with a rock or brick to keep it from moving....this one does not...it stays where you put it! Yet another plus is its all-metal construction...no plastic parts to break or wear out right away.Customer Review: Somewhat Disappointed

I bought his Melnor "heavy duty" sprinkler because the same model from years ago failed. I was somewhat surprised and disappointed that the build quality on the new model was not as good as the older heavy duty model. In addition, the ability to set the spray angle was much more difficult and the coverage not as good. Overall, a decent sprinkler but not what I would have expected from Melnor as a high end model.
