Tools and Hardware Reviews of Mice Cube 4 Pk - Reusable Humane Mouse TrapCustomer Review: Just does not work Summary: 1 Stars
I thought I had a mouse in my house. Turned out I had 9 - so far. I initially bought one different trap, that was a similar black plastic rectangular tube, that had a door that was open and swung shut. I thought the mouse wasn't entering it, and so I ordered these four.
Turns out, that one other trap was *far* better than these four. I have put that one trap, and these three to four traps, in the same spots, rotating them in two rooms, over 3 to 4 months, and the ONLY trap the mice use is the other one. Statistically, it's huge evidence.
Turns out, the other trap didn't seem used because the mouse had gotten the bait and left the trap and I hadn't checked. After that it did it several more times fast until I contacted the manufacturer who said who push the door legs for a minute - and that did the trick, it then quickly caught mice.
And that's with these mice cubes BETTER prepared - similar with the bit of cracker and peanut butter inside, but peanut butter smeared a little on the outside door only on these traps, not on the other one.
The only exception was a ninth mouse - I had left the laundry room door open for a couple weeks with a mice cube trap hoping the mouse would go there, and when it didn't I closed the door and didn't think the mouse could get to it, and forgot the trap a few days. When I went there, with that trap being the ONLY trap and the only source of any food, one mouse had finally used it, and sadly - I had got the human traps not wanting to kill the mouse - the mouse was killed, I don't know if by lack of air or what. I threw the whole thing in he trash and then it was three traps versus one.
The lack of air is one issue, but these traps, baited well and placed right where there are mice, never caught a single one where the other trap was used also. They' just useless for the eight mice other than the one above. They're just a chore to check over and over for 2 to 3 months.
Out of the whole time, they used one of these traps one time - and had got it on its side and escaped. After that I secured them with something next to them.
Also, I thought they were clear enough to be able to easily see a mouse - no, I've had to pick them up and look inside to check.
I do not recommend these traps for catching mice - or holding them humanely. The other trap with the door that opens until the mouse goes in is much better.
Description of Mice Cube 4 Pk - Reusable Humane Mouse Trap4 PK Mice Cubes - Safe, Clean, Silent, Reusable - IT WORKS!!
The Mice Cube is a molded plastic mousetrap with a door that is free-swinging in an inward direction only. Small holes in the door allow the odor of the bait to escape to attract the mouse. The mouse enters by pushing the light-weight door inward, which then closes by gravity, preventing escape. IT WORKS !! You never have to touch the mouse !!
Mice Cubes aren't literally cubes, but rather dark black but somewhat translucent rectangles the size of a butter dish (2"x2"x 5.75").
Directions For Use: 1. To bait trap, spread peanut butter on a cracker and place it at the far end of the trap opposite the door. HINT: To help attract mouse to trap, spread a very thin layer of peanut butter on the swinging door - wipe of any excess so peanut scent remains, and the door swings freely. 2. Place trap along wall or in area where mouse droppings are prevalent. Warning: Check trap once or twice a day, as mouse will expire if left in Mice Cube. 3. To release the mouse, take the Mice Cube outside and turn the trap upside down. The door will open and the mouse can exit. 4. If mouse has expired in trap, you may dispose of it in a refuse container without ever touching the mouse!
