I have fought this gate and the stall force since it was new. All trouble shooting test from Mighty Mule showed no problems with the gate operation. Even though it would no longer close. I finally took the leap and tried an upgrade to the new "blue" control board. What a difference. The gate works great. It now has an easier start and smoother operation. Also, the gate lock unlocks right before it latches. This eliminates the need to have the gate "slam" in order to lock. This makes it operate better in colder conditions. If you are having a problem with your Mighty Mule gate, I wouldn't hesitate upgrading to the Blue Control Board.Customer Review: Good replacement control board

I had the older green-board in my opener, the old board worked in every way except charging the battery. I could not find anyone to repair the old green-board so had to buy new. I feel it is pretty expensive, but there was little alternative.
The new blue-board worked just fine as a replacement for the older green-board. The new board has nicer features when it comes to setting delays and stop limits on the gate. No more dip switches and relays are more compact.
In all, a good replacement board. Wish I could have repaired the old though.

Very good replacement for origional part. I usued all the tech support suggestions provided by the mfg and it was a nightmare. I did the troubleshooting they offered with little success other than isolating the problem to some degree. However, my determination conflicted with their decision so out of frustration I ordered this part and it solved my problem. I then told Mighty Mule (GTO)what happened and they said "well you probably had a bad relay". I responded by asking if they repair the bords or know someone who does. Amazon had the best price on this and was 15% less that a local dealer. This control board is easy to install, but it didn't work for me. I sent it back to the manufacturer and they helped me figure out that the board was fine but I had other problems, probably due to a lightning strike. They told me where I could get the other parts locally. They returned the board and I installed it along with the other parts and it works fine. GTO is a great company with outstanding customer service, just like Amazon.Customer Review: Upgraded board is better

This board is the upgraded replacement of the original. It has better settings. I like the closure time setting from 0 - 120 min. I hope this one will hold up better that the originals. I've had to replace it twice. The GTO gate openers are sub-par. I have had mine 4 years and have had serveral problems. I have spent as much on repairs as the unit cost. It's best to ground everything and fuse the incoming 18 volts. They don't tell you this.
