Tools and Hardware Reviews of Mosquito Barrier 2001 Liquid Spray Repellent, 1-QuartCustomer Review: Don't waste your money and time Summary: 1 Stars
Followed the directions: mixed equal parts MB with veggie oil and used the pump sprayer. Not windy, no rain for the next few days...the hordes still come. I sprayed every inch of our property of half acre mostly grass and other than the garlic smell, nothing has changed. We can't be outside for more than a few minutes before mosquitoes are swarming us like a biblical plague. I don't blame Mosquito Barrier, they tried and failed like all other natural repellents, but this stuff didn't even work a little bit. It does not kill on contact like it claims, I tested this thoroughly. Actually may be an attractant, as mosquitoes were landing on the sprayer while I was pouring the stuff in. Sadly, its back to square one for us. Don't waste your time and money here.

So I've decided to try this product out first before making the commitment of purchasing a mosquito trap unit, those usually run around $300-500 depending on which model. Anyways, I live in the East Coast, a little surburb south of Boston and I routinely get these swarms of mosquitoes attacking me in my yard, and my fellow bbq'ers. So I had people over again this past weekend, while I still had a few bites, I must say it wasn't nearly as bad as before, so at least I feel like the label claim was somewhat satisfactory. Straight out of the bottle, the fragrance of garlic is pretty potent, but lucky for me I happen to like that scent. Although that "fragrance" got trapped a bit inside my unventilated garage on a hot humid day, not so pleasant.
Customer Review: So long Skeeters! Summary: 5 Stars
I can sit outside in farm land Illinois where everyone lives on an acre of land and even my neighbors say... "The mosquito's are not so bad this year!" When I spray it's usually a windy day and I figure the spray get's their yard too. On the news, "The worst mosquitos ever!" Not here.
It smells like lot's of garlic bread cooking. Three hours later the scent is gone from your hands (which it will get on) and your yard.
My only complaint is the spray bottle I bought cloggs up, so I just bought another one and it clogged too after one use. Worth it!
Also... I use more Mosquito Barrier spray over water measurements and sometimes just use it straight.
Now, make a fly and moth spray and all BBQ'S will be perfect!
Customer Review: This stuff is great Summary: 4 Stars
A noticeable difference on the amount of mosquitoes on my porch area. I only sprayed up around the house, and did not go far into my grassed areas. I sprayed the concrete porch, siding, bbq pit and cover, sidewalk, plants, wood pile and anything else that was around. Mosquitoes were not eliminated completely but there was only one for where there used to be ten. When i ventured out into the lawn, those ten came back. This proved to me that the mosquitoes were still there, just not coming around the area where i had sprayed the Barrier. Also noticed a great reduction of the number of moths that would gather around my outside light. I had sprayed that area around the door and light. Can't wait to utilize more next year.
Customer Review: Disappointing Summary: 1 Stars
We live in Southern Saskatchewan Canada. This year the mosquitos were exceptionally bad. We thought it would be great to spray our area and our daughter's back yard so that we could enjoy summer outside without having to spray ourselves with deet. When we sprayed, the garlic odor was extremely potent, but by the next day we couldn't smell it anymore. So far so good, just as they claimed. I decided to try it out. I sat on the bench within the area that was sprayed and within minutes, I had three mosquito bites. This was the day after we sprayed - not 2, 3 or 4 weeks.
I checked with my daughter and she too did not notice an improvement with the mosquito situation in her yard. My advise - save your money!
