Tools and Hardware Reviews of Chainsaw Safety Helmet and Face Guard W/ MuffsCustomer Review: Need assembly hints? Read here. Summary: 4 Stars
The product is fine. The assembly instructions stink! Learn from my ordeal: There are essentially four steps. STEP ONE: attach the harness to the shell: Read the 10/29/08 review, below...that guy covers it pretty well. STEP TWO: Attach the two mask parts to each other. Here it's helpful to note that the tabs on the lifting visor part has tabs that get inserted into the holes at the top of the mask. These tabs twist horizontally so they can be inserted through the mask holes, and then twisted vertically again so the mask stays put. Please note that the far right tab and the far left tab don't need to be deployed...it's easiest to start in the middle and work outward. STEP THREE: Attach the ear-muffs to the shell. This is pretty easy...there are slots in the shell above where your ears are, it's easy to tell what parts slides & clicks in these slots. STEP FOUR: Attaching the visor/mask assembly to the helmet. The visor piece has a long tab that gets inserted--NOT into the helmet shell--but into the ear muff pieces (this fact really stumped me for a while!). Right where the ear muff pieces snap into the shell you'll find a slot for the tab on the visor/mask assembly. Push it in all the way; it clicks in place. If you don't have to figure it out yourself, the process should take five minutes.
