Tools and Hardware Reviews of Music Power 0900-71 Duet USB Port AC ChargerCustomer Review: It Does the job well Summary: 4 Stars
So the main reason i bought this charger was because i lost my blackberry charger and need a wall charger for my iTouch as well.
Pros:
1. The charger is small, very portable for any type of trip. another cool thing is that the metal prongs fold up when not in use so the charger gets very compact.
2. The 2 usb ports are on the bottom and allows the charger to stay flat against the wall when plugged.
3. does it's job well
Cons:
1. the charger sits a little high when plugged in so you might have trouble using the 2nd outlet. my method was i plug in whatever i need to on the top outlet and then plug in the charger, very tight squeeze but it works. (im referring to the 3-prong plugs)
Customer Review: Musicpower Duet Summary: 5 Stars
I use this all the time while on the road. I have bought two usb cables that split at the end with a 5mm barrel plug and a mini usb. When I get back to the room or off of the plane I can now charge my phone, camera, mp3, and psp all at the same time. No more having to switch things out and hoping that I can get everything charged before I leave the next day. I love this little gadget. The plugs fold in and it packs flat. Very nice. I highly recommend it. Now all of this being said, I've have this a couple years now and they have a new device out called the encore. I haven't used it, but it has a rechargeble extended battery inside. I would check into that as well.
Customer Review: 1.5V & 2.5V, usable USB plug-in power supply, does worsen AM reception. Summary: 4 Stars
From the device label: "1.5V 500mA, 2.5V 500mA, UL listed, Model 0900-71, efficiency level V".
Unlike Eforcity's Universal USB Travel Charger Adapter with serious issues (see my review of that USB supply), this USB power supply is UL listed, legal for sale in the US, and will charge my CC Witness AM Radio MP3 player and cell phone properly, rather than fail to power them.
My AM radio gets significantly worse reception using this USB power supply than when plugging the USB cable into my portable computer, but of all the stand-alone plug-in USB power supplies I've tried, I get the best reception so far with this USB power supply.
Customer Review: Razr Incompatible; low output voltage Summary: 2 Stars
Output voltages on this unit are 2.5V and 1.5V. Neither voltage is enough to charge the Razr. The Razr charger is rated at 5.0V. Before you assume this low-voltage charger will work with your device, check the output of the charger it came with (or the input requirement listed in the owner manual). I suspect it would have trouble charging myriad USB devices. Kensington's 4-port USB charger costs nearly $30 but it puts out the full 5V at 2.0 amps; that's the one I'm buying to replace this mistake. Kensington K38035US 4-Port USB Charger for Mobile Devices
Customer Review: Best affordable option to Apple Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this product after my niece's Music Power Duet successfully charged my ipod touch 2g and her Zune player at the same time. It's a great charger. It recharges my Touch quickly and safely. The best part is that there are two usb ports, so I can charge both my ipod touch and my ipod nano simultaneously. I also own the older apple firewire charger (which does not work with the Touch ipods) and was not interested in buying another charger at $30 from Apple. It's a rip off. This was a cheaper and better alternative (don't forget the two usb ports) and I feel good knowing Apple missed out on a sale due to greed. Thank-you Music Power :D
