Tools and Hardware Reviews of Clocky Alarm Clock On Wheels, ChromeCustomer Review: Louder than a rock concert Summary: 1 Stars
Sure, it looks innocent enough, staring up at you with its adorable robot grin. But inside the heart of Clocky, there is a malevolent force of evil.
Expecting to be woken up with gentle and cute computer sounds, I was instead blasted out of bed by a cacophony of pure screeching hatred comparable to the volume of standing right next to a launching space shuttle. NOT a good way to start off the day. My fiance startled awake and ran for the fire extinguisher. My cats, who sleep on the complete other side of the house, boarded planes to Mexico to escape the terrible roar. The entire city of Seattle experienced a 4.9 magnitude earthquake.
In other words, it is LOUD. Unless you are extremely hard of hearing or truly wish to become so shortly, this is not the alarm for you. We now only use it for decoration and occasionally to give the cats some exercise as they dive for cover.
Customer Review: Great for HIgh School or College kids Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this at the request of my 18 year old daughter. She doesn't wake up too easily and would sleep through her regular alarm and her cell phone alarm. This works really well. Initially, the alarm goes off and because it has robotic sounds, it wakes her up right away. If she hits the snooze button for 1 minute and ignores it, Clocky jumps off of her night stand and rolls around on her floor making loud beeping sounds. She has a thick rug and it doesn't roll around too well on that, but the fact that she has to get out of bed to shut if off works. The only drawbacks with Clocky that I can see are no backlight feature, so you can't tell time at night and also the price is high. It is not made of the best materials, but so far it is holding up. I would buy it again.Clocky Alarm Clock on Wheels in Chrome
Customer Review: Effective but too easy to turn alarm off Summary: 3 Stars
Let me first say that the alarm does wake you up. Purchased the alarm for my 14 year old son who is not a morning person. I loved the idea of an alarm clock that woke him up and should he go back to sleep would make sure that he woke up. However, my dreams of having him wake back up rest solely on him hitting the snooze button - something that he learned after one night was not something he wanted to do. Now, he simply turns the alarm off instead of hitting the snooze and goes back to sleep. Clocky only rolls around the room after the snooze time expires.
My wish is that the process of turning the alarm off were a little more complicated than simply touching a button on the front of the device.
Have no doubt, this item does do what it says and it does indeed wake you up.
Customer Review: Top contender for "Worst Item Ever Made"! Summary: 1 Stars
My 10 year old nephew saw this thing online and he "had to have it!"
So I bought it for him for his upcoming birthday.
He never really got any use out of it, because trying it out, the thing literally went to pieces.
We set the alarm, the alarm went off, and, as promised by the manufacturer, Clocky took the expected nose dive off the nightstand. The problem? When Clocky hit the floor [a carpeted floor!] his wheels sadly rolled away, leaving pieces of him scattered everywhere.
I have to wonder about the mentality of the person who dreamed this thing up.
Clocky is basically a piece of crap, and not worth taking out of the box even if it were free.
Customer Review: Stopped working the first morning! Summary: 1 Stars
We just received our chrome clocky yesterday. We put the batteries in, made sure it worked, tested the functions, and placed it on a regular 1.5 ft bedroom nightstand over heavy carpeting. Next morning, it rang, snoozed, jumped on the carpet from 1.5 ft in the clear, and went totally dead. Checked the batteries; still nothing.
We thought our $59 would last longer than one evening! We emailed Nanda for replacement but based on the previous posting, we are better off returning it ...
