Customer Review: Good - with a few issues

Here's the good:
-The alarm is extremely loud, jarring, and unpredictable. There is NO way you could ever sleep through it.
-The controls are easy to use.
-It's smaller than I thought it would be, so it fits easily on the nightstand.
-When given the right opportunities, it really does "run off" and cause you to get out of bed.
The bad:
-The button you use to turn off the alarm really TURNS OFF the alarm. If you don't remember to hit again, your alarm will be OFF and won't go off the next morning. So, shutting off the alarm turns it off completely. I got caught by that once or twice. :-(
-Clocky is kind of stupid and doesn't have a large variety of programmed paths. Mine always tries to take a left after jumping off the table and ends up bonking into stuff under the bed uselessly until I turn it off or snooze. It stays easily within my reach. If I put it on the floor after I hit snooze the first time, it tends to do better.
-I'll have to see if after extended use the alarm really drives me (or my fiance) crazy.

I am a full time college student and am known for not being able to drag myself out of bed in the mornings. I could sleep through any alarm! I saw Clocky and decided to spend the money, it's the best money I've ever spent!
I set Clocky for snooze, now you're thinking, that is where it would fail you? Nope, Clocky only allows you to snooze ONCE! When you snooze time is up (0 - 9 minutes, you set it) the alarm goes off again and in less than 1 second he's off your bedside table roaming around your bedroom floor. The only way to turn him off? GET OUT OF BED AND CHASE HIM!
The logic is, if you have to chase the clock, you are already up... well, what can I say, IT WORKS! I actually get up ON TIME now! This clock is a life saver!
If you are wondering what Clocky sounds like... picture a very small, R2D2, or as I call him, R2D2 Jr.

I bought the clocky alarm clock because my high school son has a really hard time getting up in the morning. The first one didn't move but was really loud. Amazon sent out a replacement clock before they got the defective one back which was great because I needed an obnoxious alarm clock. And this clock is VERY OBNOXIOUS. I can hear it in my room. It starts out loud and then if no one turns off the alarm it rolls off the night stand on to the floor still blaring. By the time the clock rolls off the table my son is up.
The 2 items of note - it does not automatically reset. Once you shut off the alarm you have to remember to turn the alarm/wheels back on again. The other item is - don't put it too close to the bed. My son sometimes turns off the alarm within that first minute before he gets out of bed & then falls back asleep.

This was a fun and useful product until it broke (runs away, but stopped making any alarm sound). I was past the return period from the store where I bought it so I contacted Nanda for warranty service. And I contacted Nanda again. And I contacted Nanda again. I emailed them. I called them on the phone. I even wrote a letter (a real honest to goodness letter - you know, with a stamp). Every time I spoke to someone, they said they would have to get back in touch with me, but they never did. Always apologetic, but never solving the problem. It's too bad. They obviously are a small company and I was rooting for them. They don't seem to be run very well. Nanda, if you're listening, it's and I would still like a working Clocky.
