Bought a 1950s house with one door having this lock. Never seen one before. Fell in love with it. Seller had taken a couple of these locks off doors and with her. I wanted to make the doors as the original owner had them. Found these here at Amazon (couldn't find at local hardware stores - LOWES, TRUE VALUE, ACE). I use in conjuction with other locks on doors. Wish I had known of this type of chain lock while renting. Nicely made, easy to install. Wouldn't use instead of deadbolt but it is a great lock to use with deadbolt. They go high so little hands can't reach! I have a decorate hook nearby in closet where I hang all door keys. You can also just keep key in lock, if you prefer. Or both, they give you two keys! I love this purchase.
