Tools and Hardware Reviews of Nelson Brass Quick Connect Set, Male/Female 2-Piece #N109C

Customer Review: The last quick coupler you will ever need to buy.
Summary: 5 Stars

I've used these Nelson couplers for nearly 20 years. I still have most of the originals in service. The only parts I have had to discard were damaged when I drove over them with my pickup truck. Put a female on each water faucet and the business end of each hose. A male connector goes on each device (nozzle, sprinkler, drip hose etc.) Changing setups is a snap, literally.

In the past I tried other brands, but the plastic parts quickly deteriorated from the constant exposure, or broke from repeated stress.

These Nelson connectors will be the last couplers you will ever need to buy.

Customer Review: Nelson brass fixtures last forever
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought some of the Nelson plastic connectors a few years ago, when I could not find the brass ones. They started cracking and leaking within a year or two. My dad has some of the Nelson brass fittings that are over 50 years old and still work fine. My own brass fixtures work just fine after 10 years.

Customer Review: Mine leaked
Summary: 1 Stars

Mine leaked -- first a tiny leak, then a geyser.
Drove to Home depot and bought a plastic one. Half the price, no leaks.
The problem is: is it worth it to return a defective $5 item?

Customer Review: The best products seldom disappoint.
Summary: 5 Stars

If you only own one hose, these are a worthwhile investment.
I maintain five landscaped acres around my home. While I have yard hydrants, they're few and far between. Over the years I've accumulated nearly a quarter mile of hose.
I've tried every connector in the book. These work as advertised. Way outlast plastic. Easy to use. Can even be used while the water is running without getting soaked (okay, a tiny bit wet - but practice will quickly teach you how to minimize that problem).
I've used these for over 15 years. After several years I occasionally find a problem with my water depositing minerals and rust on the little stainless steel locking ball bearings. A quick and easy disassembly, application of a bit of silicone grease, and a new gasket (easily obtained) puts them right back in business for another four or five years of heavy use.
They are compatible with other brass connector brands, but not perfectly. I don't know if still true, but Sears sold them in Craftsman packaging for years.
I cannot remember being disappointed with an L R Nelson product.
Amazon's price is as good as I have found - and the free shipping offer made it a no brainer to stock up on a few.

Customer Review: Convenient, last for a lifetime
Summary: 5 Stars

I have had these for 10 years now. They always work, last forever, and won't break. The obvious downside is they are expensive and to accomplish what you want, you need to buy enough for every faucet, hose, timer, and sprayer since the idea is you use quick connect for everything. If you just have a few then they get in the way and you have to unscrew them sometimes, then of course you run the risk of losing them.

I treated myself when I won my office NCAA basketball pool with 12 sets and have never regretted it.
