Customer Review: Effectively removes clorine / bleach, Better Hair

The water at my apartment is so heavily saturated with bleach you can occasionally smell it. It made me feel sick drinking it, and we suspected it was causing damage to my girlfriend's long hair (including hair loss). One month of using this shower filter, and my girlfriend's hair problems have disappeared. Additionally, I must admit the water in the shower tasted fresher than water going through my Brita filter (pitcher).
Instruction were easy to follow! (though removing the old faucet required some WD-40, a hammer, a pipe-wrench, and a lighter!!) I like the shower-head's spray.
The only real downside is the construction is plastic and not that strong, and under light-to-moderate misuse or force might break.

Although I have had the April Shower hand held filter but a short time, I'm very satisfied with the ease of installation and the ease of adjustment for varying spray types. A simple turn of the shower head and you can
change from a fine spray to the massaging, pulsating output. The hand held feature is great and can be easily set in the bracket for normal showering. Living in a mobile park very often present a problem of not
having room for the shower filter. My old shower sent spray to the lower body parts and I had to stoop to shower the shoulders and head. The filters fit into the handle, inexpensive and easy to install. I give the
shower filter a healthy 5.

I have only had the April Shower APHH Handheld Shower Head operating for about a month. It is exactly what I expected. It was easy to install, but I was very careful with it as the components appeared to be a bit fragile. It works well filtering the water and providing a full water flow. The head is quite light and easy to use. Some reviews indicated the shower head would be too high, but I did not find that to be the case. I was skeptical about this filter shower head mainly because of the size and price. I've been looking at a full size water softener unit but it's out of my budget so I decided to give this a try. I've had this unit for almost 2 weeks now and it has helped calmed and softened my hair and I also noticed my skin is not as dried as before. I have really thick and hard hair and I immediately felt the difference after one shower. And to my surprise and unlike trying new shampoos, my hair remained softer shower and shower. We were disappointed this popular filtered shower system broke after only a few months of use. The plastic where the you unscrew the shower handle to replace the filter was too thin, causing it to crack between the threads and leak. We have had much less expensive shower heads made better than this. Though the company was honest about honoring the warranty, their email was cryptic, and appeared to insinuate something about us from our other reviews, most of which are positive. When we tried to order the defective part, we were ignored. We suggest you purchase this in the chrome version if you really like it.
