Tools and Hardware Reviews of Morning Star Sandalwood Incense 200 SticksCustomer Review: Not worth five stars, but decent Summary: 3 Stars
The incense provides a great, strong smell for the first few days, but loses it's potency within the first week, which is much less than some of the other quality incense I buy. As is stated in the other reviews, the sticks break very easily; this can be extremely frustrating.
It's not all bad, though. The sticks provide a very powerful, calming, and generally great smelling aroma while they still have their potency. Getting 200 sticks for so cheap is a really great deal, though I didn't get a chance to use nearly all of them before they started losing their smell.
I probably won't buy these again, but because they're so cheap for so many, and they smell so good for about the first week or so, I would recommend others to buy a box and enjoy them. They really are worth it for the money.
Customer Review: Subtle and lovely, with staying power Summary: 5 Stars
This sandalwood incense from Nippon Kodo isn't the kind of cloying "hippie" incense that I loathe. It's subtle, elegant sandalwood that smells wonderful. Although it is subtle in scent, the scent has staying power and sticks around awhile, so it's the best of both worlds. IMO it's right up there with Nippon Kodo lavender incense, which also is lovely, subtle, not too cloyingly sweet or flowery, and lasts for a bit. I tried this out hoping I'd love it and I do - so I'll be back for more. The single-stick little ceramic burners are nice, too ... you get one burner inside each box you order. I'll probably wind up using them as poker chips, since I buy so much of this wonderful Nippon Kodo incense!
Customer Review: In the nose of the beholder... Summary: 5 Stars
I like this incense. Having read several of the reviews, I find that there is a range of delight to hatred, so I figure it is a "beauty is in the nose of the beholder" thing. I usually purchase East Indian sandalwood types of incense, and found that this one is very gentle (like the other Japanese incense I bought - Mainichikoh) and good for a slight background scent when I don't want the aroma to be overwhelming. If a stronger scent is desired, I can light more than one.
The sticks are very thin, and have no core of wood. This was not a problem for me, and if handled carefully, they don't break.
Customer Review: Surprising incense Summary: 5 Stars
This scent kinda sneaks up on you. When you first light it, you may not think it has an aroma at all unless you are right over it. However, within a few minutes it will dawn on you that the smell is there--it is just so light and relaxing that at first you may miss it. The sticks don't look like regular incense because while they are sticks the sticks are made of pure incense with no wood, but they burn about a half hour per stick and put out a nice scent. I feel that this will end up being my go-to incense, and highly recommend it for those who want a quality scent without an overpowering aroma.
Customer Review: A nice little stick Summary: 4 Stars
This is a very nice smelling incense, with a fragrance that sticks around.
Three things came as a surprise though...
1) The sticks are much smaller than a normal stick, about 60% their size. Not bad, just unexpected.
2) There is NO "bare handle" like normal sticks, the ENTIRE length is the incense.
3) It comes with a (very) small incense holder. It looks to be painted ceramic. This is a good thing if you have a wooden incense holder. Hot coal against wood. Hmmmm. ;)
I'm very happy with this purchase and will buy it again. :)
