Tools and Hardware Reviews of Nite Ize SB1-2PK-01 Size-1 S-Biner, Black, 2-PackCustomer Review: Nite Ize s-biners Summary: 5 Stars
I picked up several different sizes of both metal and plastic s-biners. I highly recommend them. As one reviewer said, they would be better if there was more tension on the gates. I've worked around that by using fabric tape on bits that are going to be shut for a long time. They're very handy for hanging stuff off of molle gear while deployed. I'm even using one as my keychain for now. Well worth the price.
Customer Review: small like paper clip Summary: 2 Stars
I didn't scan the page hard enough to know they are only 1.5 inches long. In fact the size (in non-Nite-Ize units) is not there, maybe I would have to click tech specs? I'm disappointed they are so small, maybe the price help me assume they're bigger. Also it's pretty difficult to open one clasp without also opening the other clasp at the same time. Seems to defeat the purpose of this "S" design.
Customer Review: Cheap and Functionable Summary: 3 Stars
They are small and only rated for 5lbs, so don't expect to much from them. I bought two for a total of 6 (two 3 packs) and so far I have been able to put a couple to use. I actually rigged up a paracord lanyard for my Swiss Army knife and used one of these to attach to my belt loop just in case the knife would slip out of my pocket. So for small functions these can be useful.
Customer Review: Good for key chains, small items Summary: 5 Stars
Good for key chains and small cameras, GPS devices, anything with a lanyard, etc.
Just be aware that It can easily come off unless clasp is fully closed. For example: if you clip to your jeans/pants pocket, it can come off with a gentle push. If you clip it to your belt loop or other rope or loop, it very secure.
Customer Review: 2nd vote for "Cheap and Functional" Summary: 3 Stars
The first guy who wrote "cheap and functional" pretty much summed it up. However, if you have more than say, five keys, or if you carry extra things like a flash drive, electronic entry card, Res-Q-Me, or other extra stuff... then you'll want to go one size larger (I wish I had). But the product itself works fine.
