I was very careful to follow the instructions after reading these reviews, but I'm disappointed to say that mine broke almost immediately. It heated my water up to a luke-warm temperature and then spontaneously stopped working. I didn't remove it from the water without unplugging it first or anything like that so I don't see any reason why it should fail so quickly! I was very excited for this product because it seems like it could be so useful- but not if it breaks immediately!Customer Review: Worked Twice and Died

Complete and utter waste of money. I made tea twice while on a trip and then it stopped functioning. I had one years ago that worked forever. This item was junk. Due to the low price it isn't even worth my time to return the faulty item. Don't waste your money or time on this item. Unfortunately, none of the immersion heaters on Amazon got good reviews. This one was better than most so I took a chance. I should have listened to the reviews because I didn't get lucky.Customer Review: Travel with this

Ok, I travel all over the place and it's important that I can have a cup of tea or coffee when I'm in a hotel room!! Room service is way over priced as we all know. So, this little heater will help me have a cup of ramen noodles, hot tea or coffee or instant oatmeal in a few minutes. I LOVE THIS GADGET!!

This handy immersion device saves me tons of water and the cost of energy to heat it. Rather than running the hot water tap in the mornings long enough to get the water from the hot water heater to the distant bathroom to wash my face, I merely slip the Norpro into a small bowl of water for two to three minutes. This little electric water heater is portable and easy to pack for trips. It works great if you follow the directions carefully and remember to unplug it before you remove it from the water. It has a hook at the top and sits easily on the side of your cup. I used it for a week in a hotel room where there was no coffee maker nor microwave and I cannot live without my morning coffee!!
