Works great if you ALWAYS follow these steps:
1. Fill your cup with water
2. Insert the heater into the water, THEN plug it in.
3. It takes a couple of minutes to get the water boiling.
4. Unplug the heater first, THEN remove it from the water.

I have had a heater similar to this for years and when it finally failed (due to my negligence) I went a while without one while looking for another. This single-cup water heater works perfectly! It can be used to heat water for hot chocolate, tea, or Starbucks' new coffee product called Via. I was very pleased with this transaction. It was well packaged and prompt in delivery. Couldn't have been more satified!Customer Review: a title

The product worked as stated, but the plastic 'handle' that also holds the heater on the lip of the cup snapped off on the second use (substituted half of a clothespin held in place with a rubber band....). I can't really argue for the price. Shipped quickly.
