Customer Review: Worst vise I've ever used

I am not usually negative, but this is a rare product. It was almost completely unusable. About all I can say for it is it was cheap. I have used bent old vices, rusty old vices, wood shop vices, small hobby vices, plastic circuit board vices, and so forth, and this is hands down the worst vise I have ever used.

It won't tighten. The jaws don't even stay aligned. Far from being hardened steel, the jaws are so soft I was able to cut 1/8" groove with one light pass of a Dremel (to try and get just a little more grip from them). I honestly don't think this thing is even made of steel. I've had brass that was harder.

Okay...if the only thing you are clamping is balsa wood, okay. But even soft plastic, this vise won't hold it well enough to keep it from slipping when you apply a tool. Spend a few more bucks and find a vise that actually works.
