Tools and Hardware Reviews of Optimus H-5210 Infrared Quartz Radiant HeaterCustomer Review: Great Little Heater Summary: 5 Stars
We've had this heate for about a month. We have a large open space that cannot be efficiently heated up, so we needed something that heats our body without heating up the entire space. This heater works great for that purpose. Even at 400W, it's toasty warm. We bought a second for our computer room. Though this is not a space heater, it does warm up the room if the room is small (our computer room is about 8 x 10 ft). The heater doesn't take up much space, it's totally silent. The heater also is set at a good angle. when we are sitting on a chair, the heater points at our feet and and lower leg. When sitting on the follow, it warms up our body. So we didn't need to sit in an ackward position to get warm like we did with the Presto Parabolic heatdish that we end up returning. Cons: the setting on the side dial is hard to see frm the front. We just make some marks on the front side of the dial and the problem is resolved. The cord is a little short, appx 1 meter long. Of the 2 we bought, only 1 released the odor other reviewers mentioned, but the odor burned off in a couple hours so it's not an issue.
Customer Review: Optimus is my new best buddy Summary: 5 Stars
For years I used certain Lakewood quartz heaters to warm two rooms in my small home. I began to panic when learning that particular model had been discontinued. Simply out of curiosity, I decided to purchase this item because of the low price of $28.43. This meant I also got free shipping. After applying one of my $25 Chase/Amazon credit card reward certificates, this quartz heater only cost me a whopping $3.43. Not too shabby a price, right?
So far, I can recommend my Optimus. It throws out plenty of heat at the lower 400W level. What I like best is the complete, and I mean total, lack of noise when I sit nearby. Even without a reward certificate, this little heater would be worth buying. Go for it!

Customer Review: Favorite Electric.......and nice way to burn money, be careful Summary: 4 Stars
Unless there is no other way to heat a small space this is a good one. Electrite rates vary. Around the Sacramento, Ca area 1500 watts cost about close to $3.25 AN HOUR! Maybe more in your area. Got that? THREE TWENTY FIVE PER HOUR times 12 hours = about $40 bucks per day? That is why no one uses electricity to heat houses if they can avoid it. 1500 watts is the most common size of electric heater.
This one is 800 watts max so about $1.60 per hour or $0.80 on 400 watts. Not bad to warm one person aiming at you for an hour in the morning now and then or in a TearDrop travel trailer which is why I bought it. Used carefully this nice little heater is cheaper than installing another type of heater burning propane through propane is near half the price for the same heat.
It is the 400 watts with max of 800 that appeals to me. Pretty cheap to run now and then for a short time. Made some marks on the top of the knob so I can look down and know where to turn the knob. Awkward to look at the side for me. Nice "little" heater.
Customer Review: THIS HEATER KEEPS U REALLY WARM AND IS GREAT ON ELECTRICITY BILL! Summary: 4 Stars
I BOUGHT THIS HEATER LAST YEAR, AROUND NOVEMBER OF 2009. AND I ONLY BOUGHT IT BECUZ THE REVIEWS CLAIMED THT IT WOULD KEEP ME WARM AND IT WOULDNT SQUEEZE THE LIFE OUT OF MY (ALREADY HIGH)ELECTRICITY BILL. WHEN IT ARRIVED I WAS A LITTLE SKEPTIC. BUT I HAVE TO SAY, NOW ITS BEEN A YEAR AND ALTHOUGH I HAVENT USED IT THRU THE WHOLE ENTIRE YEAR - THIS LITTLE GUY CAN HOLD ITS OWN! I USED IT CONSISTANTLY FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS STRAIGHT. AND IT DOES AS IT SAYS! IT KEEPS A ROOM (THE SIZE OF 2 SMALL TWIN BEDS, A DRESSER, DESK, AND TV STAND) WITH THE DOOR CLOSED QUITE WARM AND COMFY. AND IF IT TIPS OVER OR IS OFF BALANCED, IT SHUTS OFF AUTOMATICALLY! LOOOOOVE THAT! ALSO, LAST BUT NEVER LEAST.......MY ELECTRIC BILL WAS AWESOME! SOME OF MY NEIGHBORS HV THOSE "FAMILY DOLLAR, OR DOLLAR GENERAL" SPACE HEATERS THT RAISE THERE ELECTRIC BILLS SO HIGH. NOT MY INFRARED HEATER, hee hee! BUT THIS HEATER DOES HV 1 FLAW, (otherwise it would hv gotten 5 stars!) ITS THE KNOBS? WHTS UP WITH THT? ITS KINDA CONFUSING TO BE HONEST....BUT YET AND STILL, THIS BABY WORKS, & IT GETS THE JOB DONE!
Customer Review: Here's why this heater is great Summary: 5 Stars
I waited a year before I decided to make a review on this heater and so far it is still going strong. This is a great heater especially when you are using it at work. First off, it's a low power heater so it allows you to use 800 or 400 watts. This allows you to use it at work without worrying about blowing a fuse and making a complete ass out of yourself. Most heaters (even the small ones), will run at about 1500 watts and will easily shut down a circuit. Second, it gives off great heat. I've was hard pressed to find any amount of heat that this heater has given vs the heaters that use double the power. With the reflective background pushing the heat forward, you can easily feel it at about 8 feet away. This heater heats up my office in a place where everyone wants the air conditioning blasting, but I've had times where the co-workers were complaining that the heater was heating up the office too much. So, I'm giving this heater 5 stars because I've only have had good luck with it. I wish the same for anyone else that buys this heater.
