Tools and Hardware Reviews of Desolv It Citrus Solution 12 ozCustomer Review: Removed greasy stain from shirt even after being in dryer! Summary: 5 Stars
This week I was doing laundry in a public laundry mat while on vacation. I washed a shirt I had treated with another product due to a spill while eating out. I didn't realize I had missed a fairly large spot toward the botton of the shirt until I was folding it from the dryer. Well the treated spot came out fine but I knew the shirt was ruined when I saw the spot that hadn't been treated. I have NEVER had ANY product remove an oily or greasy spot once the item has been through a clothes dryer.
I stated as much to another lady doing laundry. She asked me if I had ever used De-solv-it and I told her I had never heard of it. She had a bottle with her and was kind enough to let me treat the spot I missed. She said it would come clean even after being through the dryer if I treated it with the De-solv-it. I was skeptical, but I let the treatment work about an hour and ran it back through the washer/dryer and ALL OF THE GREASE I had failed to treat the first time came out. No discoloration whatsoever - and there was no trace the shirt had even had a stain. Made a believer out of me! Looked at Wal-mart but couldn't find it, so came home and found it here at Amazon. Ordered 2 bottles. This will save me a fortune in clothes so it is well worth the price. No doubt about it - I will always keep this product on hand.
Will be great for clothes of babies, elderly, mechanics, special items that get stained and just for everyday spills..... Wish I had known of this product years ago!
(The shirt stain was from food grease so it may need a longer treatment time than one hour for diesel grease, ink, blood stain, etc.)
Customer Review: Saved My Shorts! (and shirt...) Summary: 5 Stars
I managed to sit in a puddle of pine pitch on my honeymoon and I thought the shorts and shirt I was wearing was ruined. Upon returning home, I went to the store and looked for a solution. I found De-Solv-It and decided to give it a try.
I had been able to scrape some off after the pitch had dried but it basically had infused the fabric and wouldn't come out. I sprayed the product on the rather large stains, tossed the items into the washer and hoped for the best. I figured I'd have to run them through several times to *maybe* get the stain out. Much to my suprise, both items came out without a stain the first time through! I was amazed...and quite pleased.
I now use the product for all my greasy, oily laundry stains. It works quite well -- even better than most of the stain removers I've used. I can even use it to eliminate grease stains on laundry that has gone through the dryer once (when I miss a grease stain) and it will take the stain out. Not bad!
The price is right, and it's saved me a bunch of money. One 12 ounce bottle lasted me a good long time and it has become the only product I use for grease stains.
Customer Review: Green and powerful yet gentle Summary: 5 Stars
I love this stuff! It bums me out that I can't find it in most stores anymore. I've been using it for 12 years now. I ordered 6 bottles online to make it efficient and worth the shipping - and boy was it worth it.
Safe enough that it has been used on babies, in burn units to remove tar, on wildlife caught in oil spiils. AND since it's citrus based it biodegrades!
Removes crayon on clothes and surfaces, removes grease from clothing. Already washed it and you missed the grease? Just spray it on and apply a litte liquid detergent and then rub. Throw it in the wash and its gone. Removes gum from hair and textiles.
I use it to remove candle wax from table cloths, to degrease things in the kitchen, to remove adhesive labels, etc.
Add it to warm water in a wash pail and mop the floor. Smells great and doesn't require rinsing.
This stuff is one of the best kept green secrets on the face of the earth!
Customer Review: I call it orange juice Summary: 5 Stars
I was first introduced to this product in the Air Force I was a cable splicer and we used it to clean the water proofing grease from the inside of the cable. Then we washed our clothes with it, cleaned our cars engines, washed our hands. We found endless uses for it, gum in you hair, or on the ground or clothes. It is a great product. I have been using it since 1989, and i always have 3-4 bottles in the house at all times, blood, and grass stains are no match for this product. If you get food or food grease on your shirt a couple of pumps wash and gone. It does have on limitation, do not use it on glass, mirrors, or finished wood. It just smears on glass and it will remove any finish off any wood. it even cleans soap scum out of the shower, but rinse good oil, water, and the bottom of the tub become a ice rink. And it always smells like oranges when you clean.
Customer Review: Best overall cleaner I've ever used! Summary: 5 Stars
I first used De-Solv It when I complained to a pre-school teacher about a sticker that left a mark on my daughter's turtleneck when I washed it. I didn't see the sticker before laundering and the paper dissoved off but not the gummy backing. She suggested I try De-Solv-It. It worked even though I had already dried the clothing in the dryer. I used it on another shirt that had been stored for a couple years until my daughter grew into it. My son had worn it under other things because it had a nasty stain from a sticker. Three years later....it still came off with De-Solv-It. Not only clothing, but it's great on countertops in the kitchen as well and the citrus smell is nice. Also it is amazing for grease stains on clothing from grease splatters, or spaghetti or pizza stains or where young boys thing their shirt and pants are the best choice for napkins....
