This is the first automatic watering timer I've ever used. It was not difficult to program, and even now it's not too hard to change the settings without the little instruction book. It has been on my spigot since Spring, and I don't water the garden myself anymore! I have three separate drip hoses attached to it by means of Y connectors, and I have had no problems. We've been away on extended vacations twice this summer, but my garden didn't even know, and it looked great upon my return each time!

I have purchased several timers in the past, this is by far the best one I've had. I love the convenience of being able to bring the timer portion inside to program without having to take off the whole unit from the faucet. It is simple to program, some I've had in the past I've had major problems figuring out, this is very sensible and easy to program. It is a great timer, I don't think anyone would be disappointed purchasing this one. I love this product so much that I bought a second one, just to have as a replacement, should they ever stop making them.
I have owned many brands and varieties of this product, but this one is the BEST. I'll say its not the easiest one to operate but once you get used to it's operation you'll find its the highest quality available. It's a very solid product, with no leaks and is very compact in size.
I highly recommend this water timer if you do not need a full underground sprinkler system.

This unit is easy to program and was the closest hose timer that resembled controllers on irrigation systems. You can set days to water, set the start times and duration of 4 individual watering times a day, manually override, delay 24hrs for days it rains... perfect. However, this unit will not be adequate if you have long runs where every little bit of water pressure counts. When open to water, it is restrictive and you will lose some water pressure. A shame really.

I've used an Orbit 62001 Watering Timer for 6 years without a problem. It is easy to set the autotimer or manual timer and it hasn't been harmed by rain. It is under my deck so it receives no direct sunlight. I also protect it from freezing. The only problem is that the low battery indicator does not go on before the batteries are too weak to operate the valve. I have had many other brands that did not last more than 2 years. I just bought a second unit and it works perfectly too.
