Customer Review: Timer is great, but not very well made

I just finished disconnecting this timer, and tomorrow I will return it to the hardware store where I bought it. I have had it for about two weeks. The timer mechanism works just fine, but apparently the valve doesn't: I have a continual leakage when the water is supposed to be off. I just placed an order on Amazon for two more Gilmour timers to add to the ones I already have--they are the only timers I have used that have always been reliable.Customer Review: Works Great

We have one flower bed that isn't covered by the main sprinkler system. I have the Orbit 62001 hooked to the tap via a Y connection with the tap and they Orbit flow permanently turned on, the other side is attached to a hose that is easily turned on via its lever on the Y. The Orbit 62001 works perfectly and the coolest thing it that the control head is detachable so I don't have to lean way over and struggle to make changes in its programming.Customer Review: well thought out, great customer service!

Over the last year and a half this timer had to have 2 parts replaced. Customer service was outstanding and sent me the needed parts free of charge--and you get to speak to a friendly and knowledgeable person in the USA. Timer is excellent, design is much better than any of my previous timers, and relatively easy to program. I also like that you can take it off of it's attachment to program it. It has programing instructions printed on the box.Customer Review: The best watering timer

This is a great product, works as advertized, easy to program and no water hammer (banging water pipes when valve shuts off). One thing I would recommend is to use quick connect couplings with this unit or any other. The reason being that it is easy to cross thread hose fittings when they are made of plastic. The Orbit 62001 has one plastic hose fitting and if it gets damaged then the unit would be useless or expensive to repair.Customer Review: A well-designed product

This automatic valve is a very well-designed product. It is professional in appearance and construction. The programming is well thought out and simple to accomplish. Furthermore, you can remove the programming unit and take it to a comfortable place to set it up. I have tried two different Melnor products which were not only cheaply constructed, but in both cases had manufacturing defects and didn't work.
