Customer Review: Awful... Unfinished... Squeaky... and has rough spots

So I decided to purchase this swift after seeing all of the great reviews here on Amazon... I don't know if it was just an issue with mine but the swift doesn't spin freely-it nearly broke my yarn winder spinning directly off it! I had to give the swift some momentum by spinning it with my hand. (I was spinning WORSTED Malabrigo - not some dainty lace weight yarn!) Once it was finally spinning, it started making this AWFUL squeaking noise-which I found was the way the unit was rubbing on the knob on top. NOTHING I coulddo would make it stop. This thing needs a plastic washer or something so it's not wood on wood. Also, there are parts of the swift that were a little rough and needed sanding... and I was disappointed to see that it was unfinished when it arrived. Overall, the design was decent and well executed, but all of the little problems here and there have left me greatly disappointed. It's going back to Amazon- and my hunt for a good affordable yarn swift continues.
