Tools and Hardware Reviews of Oxygenics 130-XLF25 BodySpa SkinCare Handheld Shower, Chrome

Customer Review: Get a conventional showerhead...
Summary: 1 Stars

I originally bought this to increase the water pressure. After using this a couple of years and keeping it immaculate, it broke for no reason. It has been far from one of the better showerheads I have used for the following reasons:
1) Very difficult to grip the lower part of the neck to adjust the intensity since you're wet, it's narrow so you really can't get a grip and it's hard to turn, and the showerhead itself sometimes begins to unscrew off of the hose when you're just trying to adjust the pressure.
2) It just gives you 1 setting...basically it's like being sprayed by a cheap garden hose, and that's not very comfortable.
3) It's not that inexpensive, mine was about $60. You can to Home Depot for instance (Home Depot is just an example, probably there are deals at Lowe's, Amazon.com, Target, and similar stores) and get a multispray handheld showerhead for less than $15 (maybe even for about $10) that will probalby last you a couple of years, then you can just dump it and get a new and different one if it breaks.

Customer Review: Not good for dog bathing!
Summary: 3 Stars

This is a quality product, no doubt about it. I read all of the reviews and I agree with most but not all of them. The reviews about it being cheap plastic are absurd. It is a very nice chrome plated product like all the others I've seen or owned. If it were made out of metal it would cost a fortune and would break your toe or chip your tub if you dropped it. Or would it! Actually, this one probably wouldn't as the hose is too short! It doesn't even hit the bottom of my tub when hanging down. Not a problem for a human taking a shower, but doesn't work well for washing a dog! It is not long enough to reach the "back end" or underside of my Sheltie. My old Delta has a hose that is exactly one foot longer and that makes all the difference in the world. The quality of the hose seems very nice and it's very flexible. The spray in my opinion, is fantastic. I have used other flow restriced shower heads before and this one is hands down, the best. I think it's better than my old non water saver head. I just wish the hose was a little longer.

Customer Review: Perfect for home or RV!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought our first handheld Oxygenics at least eight years ago. It is still working perfectly and it has been used a minimum of twice a day, everyday, for those eight years. Once we realized how much we loved the "extra" water pressure and the 2.5 gallons of water usage, we decided to buy a second Oxygenics handheld for our motorhome to save water when we are dry-camped. That was in 2002 and we have moved that handheld to two other coaches since then and it's been in use in our current motorhome for nearly three years now. Also, many years ago our son and future daughter-in-law both used our home shower. They absolutely loved it so we bought them one for Christmas several years later when they bought their own house. They, also, have moved their Oxygenics twice and now are looking to buy a second handheld since their new home has two bathrooms. These work perfectly, save a huge amount of water, and make it much easier and faster to get the soap out of my thick hair. We will never be without one both in the house OR in our motorhome!

Customer Review: Oxygenics in an RV
Summary: 4 Stars

Ultra Oxygenics Hand-Held Showerhead Increased Pressure My wife and I live in a motorhome traveling around the country. As such, water pressure(or the lack thereof) is always a surprise when we arrive at a new location. However, the Oxygenics has solved that problem very nicely. In fact, at the highest pressure it can hurt a little.

I was somewhat disappointed in that it appeared to be of cheaper construction than I expected from the pictues. However, I have only been using it less than two months so the jury is still out on that issue.

The one aspect I do not like about the showerhead is that the flow control is located where you grasp the showerhead and as you use it, you inadvertently decrease the water flow and must periodically stop your shower to adjust the water flow to an acceptable level.

At this time I would recommend the purchase of this product, particuarly, to RV owners.

Customer Review: One of the best shower heads available today
Summary: 5 Stars

Definitely recommended. I own the product since July 2008 and, much obviously, I use it regularly. It performs as advertised. Between the fixed one and the handheld, the latter is definitely the one to go for, as it reaches you head to toe.
The unit was quite easy to install with bare hands (don't bother with the gasket sizes as per instructions - they are inter-changeable now).
If you are water-conscious, you will be pleased for two more reasons: for one, the pressure and water distribution do maximize its usage; and for the other, the shower flow control goes from full pressure to a drip, without influencing the temperature setting.
I made no objective comparison, but I do believe other reviews are entirely realistic when reporting one third reduction or more in water consumption.
If you install the unit in a shower enclosure - please just be aware that, when in its fixture, the handheld will end up about 9" further from the wall than the fixed head (and at about the same height).
