Tools and Hardware Reviews of Oxygenics 130-XLF25 BodySpa SkinCare Handheld Shower, Chrome

Customer Review: Fantastic, Especially For Low Pressure Homes
Summary: 5 Stars

I have owned this product for about 4 years and I absolutely love it. I couldn't ask for a better shower head. I recently sold my home and purchased a new one, the new home has extremely low water pressure. As soon as I installed this ( took about 10 mins alone ) it felt like home again. Even with low water pressure I am able to get a high pressure shower.

The body feels very well made and the on/off valve is easy to use. The tubing is longer than any other hand held shower I've personally used.

It calls for plumbers tape upon installation, make sure you use it. When I installed the first one it had a tiny leak, after I took it down and properly installed it with the plumbers tape I had no problems.

This product has been used everyday by two people for 4 years and it's still going strong.

I don't normally do product ratings but this is a really great product. Amazon had the lowest price anywhere, it was $20 cheaper the the manufacturer's website.

Customer Review: Very pleased!
Summary: 5 Stars

I wanted a water saving showerhead with a forceful and full spray. I decided on this after reading reviews, although some were not favorable impressed. Installation was easy, it looks nice, and gives an amazing shower. The spray is full and seems to have an abundance of water - hard to believe it's 2.5 gpm. The pressure is great and feels like a massage (much better than some of the multi-setting massage showerheads I've tried. If you don't like that much force, the comfort control works well. Some say the spray loses pressure and gets cold farther from the head. The pressure seems good to me, even 3 ft. away, and the stream cooling is much less of an issue than with my old showerhead. Rinsing is also no problem. There is a fair amount of plastic in the construction, but it seems substantial. There are no leaks, and I don't see any obvious weaknesses, although over-tightening could crack some pieces. I'll have to see about the long-term durability, but this is a great showerhead!

Customer Review: Works very well for a while, poor warranty service
Summary: 2 Stars

The Oxygenics Body Spa Handheld worked for a while and then the hose developed a leak - the chrome cover has in fact rolled off, exposing the plastic tubing.
The Oxygenics customer service people claim that that the unit is only warranteed on the clogging! So much for their lifetime warranty!.
The unit stopped working after about 6 months of normal use. Would strongly discourage from buying this defective product.

The showerhead is probably a better choice as it has fewer moving parts and is installed in many of the larger hotels (MGM Grand in Las Vegas for instance).

The good points:
- when it works, the pressure of the water is really good
- does leave you feeling energized
- looks sleek and 'luxurious' with no visible plastic stuff

The bad points:
- defective handheld units - hold on to your receipts!
- bad customer service and warranty
- poorly designed plastic tubing inside the unit - prone to failure and leaks

Customer Review: A must have for low water pressure homes
Summary: 5 Stars

I have thick hair, and low water pressure, put those 2 things together and its a recipe for nothing but bad hair days. I've bought so many shower sprays with the hope that they would get the shampoo out of my hair, and of course none did what they said it would. They all promise to give a high pressure shower, but there I stood trying to remove the soap from my hair. I saw this on Amazon and thought I what the heck, it can't be any worse than the others that now sit in my drawer of mistakes. I had my husband install it (An easy install) and was wowed, totally wowed! The pressure that came out of the head was unbelievable, I washed my hair and within seconds, the soap was out of my hair, for the first time in years my hair actually felt and was clean. The only suggestion I would have sent to Oxygenics is to put a shut off valve on the unit. There is a flow restricter to slow down the water to a trickle, but a shut off would have made this great product perfect.

Customer Review: Perfect for low pressure situations
Summary: 5 Stars

We live in an apartment with its own instant water heater, which can't supply all that much hot water at a time and so makes showering with a normal shower head a fairly sad, dribbling experience. We bought a Delta Showerhead (below) for one pair of our parents with similarly low pressure, and it worked wonderfully, but in our case we live in an apartment plumbed for a handheld shower head, and couldn't use the Delta. This one works wonderfully, creating an invigorating shower experience with so little water that our hot water heater sometimes shuts off because it thinks there's not enough water demand to require its services. THAT is a problem with our water heater, rather than with the shower head, though it may be a factor to be aware of.
