Customer Review: Expensive and no better

I have had this item since March 2009 and just found a hole in the line. About halfway down the line, which connects the head to the wall, there is a hole and the unit leaks water while on. I have another handheld showerhead in my second bathroom which was replaced by the oxygenics trispa. The old showerhead was at least four years old with no problems and half the price while it put out the same amount of water. The Oxygenics seems to be made with better product, however the hole in the line is frustrating and voids the units visual appeal. The shower head was used by my wife and myself. We used the wand portion and never dropped the unit. It does not make any funny sounds and yet for some reason it has developed a leak near the middle portion of the line. The metal line seems to contract and relax respective of the water being turned on and off. I have checked the connections and ensured they are freshly sealed with Teflon tape. The unit looks good but it does not seem to hold up under several months of use.
Delta sells a similar product seen in the big box stores. The line has a similar look however it is plastic wrapped with metal, which minimizes the contract/relax of the hose. This may lead to a longer life and less risk of cracking.
Usually I expect things to break with heavy stress. (i.e. villians in Die Hard) However, this unit was not used under harsh nor heavy conditions. I did not see any other models that had the same dynamics of this units line. All the shower head units are made on the same street in China. However, I would look at Delta's design (which has the same water output) before buying the trispa.
Update 01/05/2010: Lost another Star: For the past week I have made several attempts (>5) at calling Oxygenics 209-529-3546. No one picks up after remaining on the line for >10 minutes. Warranties are only as good as the company's support and I have no faith in Oxygenics.
