I have Pearl installed in my upstairs bedroom window and certainly feel safer for it. I see too many stories about people being trapped in upstairs bedrooms and the subsequent deaths. What a tragic waste for such a small investment -- one that will always be there for the safety and peace of mind it provides. Why isn't this in all homes like smoke alarms are? I love the fact that it installs inside the wall so that I know it is always there if and when I need it. I got rid of my temporary ladder that I had kept in a closet in the box.
