Tools and Hardware Reviews of PEET Dryer M97-FSB Original 2-Shoe Electric Dryer, BlackCustomer Review: Great for runners Summary: 4 Stars
I purchased the PEET dryer about 2 months ago. Since I live in New Orleans, I mostly use the dryer for treating my running sneakers. I run 3 to 4 times a week and I tend to produce a lot of sweat. This tends to leave my running shoes a bit moist. Given the humidity levels in NOLA, the "natural" drying of my running shoes can take long. This product solves that problem. I place my sneakers in it after a long run and usually have dry shoes the following morning. It's also great for drying rain-soaked shoes, another common problem around here. Since other reviewers claimed that this device took out foul smells from dirty shoes, I tried drying some of my older shoes. Sadly, those older shoes still stink. I will report later if my newer shoes that get regularly dried with the PEET don't develop foul smells.
Customer Review: Listen to Learn Summary: 5 Stars
`Listen to Learn' is an old adage.
Well, I listened and didn't learn anything, as there was no sound.
I sent my `Original Peet Dryer' back to Amazon for a replacement. The replacement arrived in a week. Excitedly I assembled the dryer and plugged it in. Again, there was no sound, no air and no heat. I was very disappointed and sent an e-mail to Peet.
An e-mail response came a few hours later from Amanda, a Customer Service Representative. She said there is no sound, heat or air movement noticeable at all from the `Original Peet Dryer'. So I plugged it in again, put my wet hiking boots on it and a few hours later they were magically dry. WOW is all I have to say.
I highly recommend this boot dryer to anyone who needs one.

Customer Review: Dry shoes in Seattle - a miracle Summary: 4 Stars
It works just as advertised, and I'm embarrassed that I did without one for decades, letting my wet clothes fester and rot.
I bought this two-shoe unit, then an additional PEET four-shoe one.
Neither unit is perfect - this one has no on/off switch and only an extremely gentle airflow. It works fine, but surely a little fan would speed it up. Turning it on by plugging it in is primitive, I got a simple outlet timer to make sure the unit turns off automatically (http://www.amazon.com/review/RWR67T8FG4SG0/ref=cm_cr_rdp_perm). The four-shoe unit has a somewhat noisy fan and is bigger than necessary, but does have more airflow and a timer. I can't say the molded plastic is a work of art.
These now are part of the standard processing in my house.
Customer Review: Simple and Effective Summary: 5 Stars
Had this model for a year now.
It comes in a couple pieces that just snap together, no tools needed.
Has a very stable base, I constantly put steel toed work boots on it with no wobble.
As has been stated it is a simple plug-in design, with no moving parts. I use a light timer, in the winter, to cycle it on and off depending on my shift work schedule.
The bottom is open.
When I don't need the heat, just some air flow to dry my work boots out, I simply place the dryer over a floor vent. I usually have the fan of my air conditioning/heating system running anyway and this allows air to be blown through the dryer.
With the dryer plugged in it draws 36 watts.
Customer Review: saved my new boots Summary: 5 Stars
Ok, most people do not wear their new Columbia boots when walking on the beach on a stormy day. But I did. Very nice boots, water resistant - unless a wave fills them, which is what happened. I rinsed the salt water out and tried to use a towel, but really... Honest, when I bought the PEET Shoe Dryer, I did not think that it would actually work, but I just had to save my new boots. It was evening when the boots went onto the dryer and by early the next morning the boots were fully dry! As I walked around in my toasty warm boots my toes were trying to find hints of residual dampness... but there was none. I am so happy! This saved my new boots. Yes, they are just plastic and don't feel all that sturdy, but hey... they worked.
