Tools and Hardware Reviews of PUR 3-Stage Vertical Faucet Mount Chrome FM-3700BCustomer Review: Almost perfect... Summary: 4 Stars
I'm on my second sink unit at the moment, and I wouldn't trade it for any other type or brand (not that I've really used that many other kinds, but still...). I went the Brita water pitcher route before and gave it up after not very much time. I'm not a huge fan of ice cold water, which is what you're going to get with one of those since they're generally kept in the refrigerator, and it gave the water a pretty gross taste of plastic. So, I decided to try the Pur filter out. I got the more upscale model the first try...I disrecall the exact model number. It was pretty much identical to this one, except it had a light to indicate where the filter was, instead of the slider thingo this model has. I had to replace that one after not much time, however, because it was really hard to install it onto the sink (my hands aren't that strong at the moment), and the screws got stripped out. It kept on leaking more and more water out through the seal that eventually almost no water went through the filter. So, I decided to replace it with this model. It screwed onto the sink much easier than the other one, for some reason, and it doesn't leak a single drop. The only reason I'm not giving this review 5 stars, in fact, is because my 1st Pur filter leaked so badly. I'm in love with this one, though, and wouldn't trade it for any other kind, especially the nasty plastic-tasting water you get from pitchers.
Customer Review: easy on off makes this a winner Summary: 5 Stars

The PUR faucet mount goes on in a snap and works perfectly. I have uploaded several pics to allow you to see the before and after photos and the instructions. The unit comes with several adaptors that make fitting it to you faucet easy and quick. (Mine is mounted on a Moen with no issues and with an enclosed adaptor.) It filtered out our city water taste and smell and has saved us tons on bottled water. I found replacement filters through our local warehouse store...also the filters seen to last about 3 months for us...with daily use by both me and the misses.
To be clear the BIG advantage of this unit is that it comes on and off by simply pressing on either side of the mount. This allows for full sink access when doing dishes for instance. Second to address some reviewers complaints of leaks and such. YOU NEED to match your sink and the adaptor carefully. Install it carefully, the threads are plastic and can strip easily. The threads do not need plumbers tape..this will actually cause problems. Last but not least contact the company if you have a problem they are responsive and as helpful as can be.
Customer Review: Filtered Water At The Touch of A Lever Summary: 3 Stars
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
This is the second PUR faucet mount filter that I've owned. This newest one is much easier to remove; just push 2 buttons and it snaps right off and on. It's a convenient way to get filtered water, with a push of a lever, you can turn the filter off and on. The water runs straight through with the lever one way, then with just a flip of the lever, the water starts running through the filter. That way you filter only the water that you want to filter and not water for washing dishes, etc.
The pros for me are, of course, better tasting and healthier water. It doesn't take much fuss to use, the convenience of having filtered water at the touch of a lever is great.
The cons are that the filter is kind of bulky and always feels like its in my way. With both of the faucet-mount filters that I've owned, I have ended up removing them because I just didn't like them on my faucet. The other con is that the water still doesn't taste that great to me. I much rather prefer the taste of a pitcher filter to the faucet mounted ones.
Customer Review: Attractive and easy to install Summary: 4 Stars

I already have a filtration system installed for my kitchen sink, and was looking for something less expensive we could use in a second, infrenquently used bathroom sink, so I wasn't too concerned about reviews that said it didn't stand up to conventional, daily wear and tear.
So far, so good, where the PUR 3-Stage Verticle Faucet Mount is concerned. Although it admittedly feels a bit flimsy compared to the older models (what doesn't these days?), it was literally a snap to install (it comes with various faucet adapters) and looks good. The water flow from the filter isn't as strong as I'd like, but we don't exactly have the best water pressure in our house to begin with. We also like the fact that it easily swings out of the way (or can easily detach altogether) when you need to use the sink for something else.
Of course, the taste is the real test and the filtered water tastes terrific. The unit filters out all the unpleasant stuff while leaving in the fluoride, which isn't always the case with these products.
Customer Review: Almost Summary: 1 Stars

In the box is the quite attractive unit, a filter, a user manual and 4 adapters. The manual, unusually clear and simple, has as the first step the selection of one of the 4 adapters that would fit your faucet. The next step is to attach the adapter to the faucet, being sure that the washer is in place. Next, the filter is to be installed into the unit by merely unscrewing the unit top and dropping the filter inside. The unit would then simply snap onto the adapter and, Voila! What could be simpler?
The Bad: None of the 4 adapters would attach to my Price Pfister faucet. This meant, of course, that I cannot use this item.
The Good: Being unable to use this item means that I do not have to apply for a reverse mortgage in order to purchase a replacement filter in three months. These filters remind me of printer ink cartridges. The printers are almost a giveaway because the manufacturers really want to burn you with the cartridge costs. Same with this inexpensive PUR unit with exhorbitant filter costs.
