Tools and Hardware Reviews of PUR MineralClear Faucet Refill RF-9999, 6 PackCustomer Review: Great filters! Summary: 5 Stars
I've been using these filters for around a year now and they have provided excellent filtration. Water tastes great and my family has not gotten sick at all from any water related illnesses. They last very long (of course depending on use). If you are a moderate user they should give you more than half a year of service each. Which means you have at least 2 years of service from these 6 filters. Forget about the red light blinking on the PUR Faucet system, I continue to use them with the red light blinking and they continue to provide awesome service. That is just a way the Company designed to have people buy their filters more frequently. I would recommend these!
Customer Review: Outstanding, dependable value Summary: 5 Stars
This packing saved me $61.95 compared to the prices at my local supersize discount stores. This is my 3rd time to order and although I don't like spending for 6 at a time, never running dry of well filtered (stage 3) tap water is wonderful. PUR water is tasty, safe and beats hauling home bottles. The refills are well packaged to stay fresh for ages and they are easy to install. Run the water and the used filter just falls out. The new one pops in. I am in a wheelchair, am sight impaired and have restricted dexterity of my right hand. I also can easily forget to drink water, This system keeps water in front of my nose and eyes are requires no effort.
Customer Review: Satisfied Summary: 4 Stars
Overall I think this is a good value for your money. The filters are easy to install, purify fairly well and add a nice (not over-bearing) mineral taste to your water. The only downside I think is that you have to replace them fairly frequently, every 6 weeks or so I'd say. Perhaps that's normal though, since this is the first filtration system I've purchased. A word of advice though, do not run hot water with the filter on, it will lower the life of your filter considerably. I made this mistake, so be sure to make sure the water is already cool before you change to filtered water, it can save about 2 weeks or so on the filter life.
Customer Review: Great product. Great value. Summary: 5 Stars
I'd been buying these filters for years at Kmart, etc. at anywhere from $15 to $20 per filter. They make our tap water taste much better and I feel great that we're filtering out lead and other potentially harmful elements, especially since we use this water for our two young boys as well. Also makes things like pasta and tea taste better, and even at these prices we were saving a bundle vs. buying bottled water not to mention the inconvenience of having to lug those heavy bottles back from the grocery store. Buying them here works out to less than $9 per filter and they come right to my door -- a pur no-brainer.
Customer Review: works, but not as good as... Summary: 3 Stars
A friend recently purchased a "ZeroWater" water filter that comes with a device you can insert into the water to determine what they refer to as "detectable dissolved solids." Water filtered through her ZeroWater filter came up with a reading of 000 (as it should). My Pur-filtered water was in the upper 90s and not that much better than the measure of my unfiltered water. That being said, there could be other things being filtered besides "detectable dissolved solids" which are more critical, so I really don't want to make a scientific judgment, just put the comparison out there for your consideration.
